I had goose bumps when he came over to the Holmesdale threw his towel in the crowd and pumped his fist! he’s one of us! Amazing scene!

Rubbish. Wayne is a competent Premier League and international goalkeeper who like almost all keepers makes the occasional mistake. Some "fans" have irrationally decided to turn him into the scapegoat for every goal we concede.

Very sadly more than just the occasional mistake.

To me its more than his goalkeeping/shot stopping.
Its about how he conducts himself both on and off the pitch.

Met him several years ago when my kids were young and he couldn't have been more friendly or available with his time.
Seeing him yesterday throwing his jumper into the crowd as well - he has a special bond with the club and fans and that itself gives the place a lift.

What I would also add - seeing the highlights on TV this morning I noticed the amount of shouting and direction he gives to his defenders. I think this often goes unnoticed when at the match but he does not stop organising his defence. I'm sure defenders must feel more confidence with Speroni behind them.

It was a towel.

He’ll be in trouble if he needs a lift from a passing Vogon space fleet

As for What he does for Wales, it bares no significance to what he does for us. Have a look at Claudio Taffarel as a s*** keeper who actually won the World Cup. In a great team you can get away with having a poor keeper sometimes. We're not a rest team so we need a s*** hot goalie who leads from the back. Something that Wayne doesn't do.

We don't have a "great team" though. We have an average team, with an average first choice 'keeper. Maybe two or three quality players. It's a team game. No one player will make it bad. It's a collective.

Replacing WH is not the solution. Nor is JS.

The team needs to improve if we are to move forwards. There is no goalie currently playing who would have improved our 'goals for'.

Try to rationalise your hatred please.

Your nonsensical ramblings are so hell bent for Hennessey that you not only end up debunking your previous arguments, but also reiterate points that you were originally arguing against!

We get it, you don't like Wayne Hennessey, now give it a rest.

There was a lot more of a difference than just us scoring. Us scoring was the least of it. Yes, we got more goals than Chelsea but it the way in which we did it.

We didnt just win, we BEAT Chelsea.

There's no point trying to reason with him. He's got a real desire to down everything that a club legend does. Which in itself is very strange behaviour by a Palace fan.

But he HAS the number one shirt already....

Supported Palace for over 69 years since the age of 7 and have seen all the ups and downs and will probably see many more ups and downs before I go up to the big football club in the sky.

I think Hennessey would have saved the Chelsea goal due to his long reach.

Let's keep the ball this season!
