How much does the average student repay every month in fees? Do you actually know? Public sector workers have been capped because they received disproportionately high wage rises under the last stupid overspending Labour government. Is spending taxpayers money on building council houses so that we can house more immigrants a policy that makes sense to you?

It's all well and good saying they won't be paying till they earn ｣27k, they are still accruing interest. I ignored the facile unsubstantiated immigration stuff.

I知 not brilliant at this stuff but I always thought the Blair Labour Govt introduced tuition fees and then replaced maintenance grants with the current student loan stuff? I also thought it was a Labour Govt that also tripled them from ｣1,000 to ｣3,000?

Labour had a target of 50% into university. Tories increased the fees to be completely paid by students. This has got out of control. To think you're only going to pay interest it'll surely put those off going onto less academic courses, causing companies to recruit a level leavers and train them.

Effectively, people are paying 9k a year in order to pay for employment training, that these companies should be providing.
