Nya Kirby scored for the England U17's vs Japan today in the FIFA U17 World Cup Round Of 16. Great penalty; looks a real prospect.

In the previous match he got 2 assists.

I watched some of the game, I think the commentator on Eurosport only had one Nya Kirby fact: he left Spurs to get match time at Palace and de Boer played him pre-season.

mmmm is that 2 facts

Didn't see much point in watching a penalty, until I did!

Bloody great pen, right in the corner with power. Quality.

One of the guys on Hol radio said some of the 16 year olds are showing great talent as well.

I really suspect some gems well come through in the next few seasons.

Alls not to bad at CPFC

I watched the match and England had lost their way a bit with Japan getting the upper hand. When Nya came on it seemed to change the impetus back to England. He seemed really calm and had a couple of decent shots.

I hope RH gives at least two young players a start in every cup game from now on. Let the young players know they will get a chance if they are good enough, they seem to pass and move well and good one on one skills.

England played scared, which was weird considering they scored 11 goals in their groups matches. Tried to walk the ball in the net at times.

Nya's penalty was a good one, but he stood there for a split second after he took it as if he thought he had missed it, it was a close one.

We play USA on Saturday, same time Palace play Newcastle, gonna have to remember how to use my split screen.

Saw a video of Kirby clips, a technical great player. But need to be more aware of team mates. And his penalty was NOT great! OK, it ended up in the net, but hitting the post from the spot is 50/50 and the margin of error very small. Ask any decent coach and he'll say the same...besides the goalie was after it. Safe in the net and keeper sent the other way - that IS a good penalty. Other than that, hope to see Nya in PL this season...
