The Chelsea tactic was never gonna work today. We played like an away side and deserved a draw, but as usual we let in a late goal in true Palace style. As Roy said every game is a different chapter, so why do people think the same will happen each week against a totally different team with a totally different set of circumstances.

f*** all is what happened. Newcastle were terrible, kept giving over possession, and because we don't have a striker we did nothing with our dominance.

It's because Rafa watched us on the video last week and rooted his back 4 to the spot and asked us 'what you gonna do?' Answer is struggle to score so a high probability of free points for them. Why expose yourselves vs a counter attacking team too much?

Simple really, we don't have anyone that can finish our chances. If we did, we'd have won today even though we conceded.

It's disappointing, but I still take heart from the performance. I think we're on an upward trajectory but this week is another important one. By 5pm Saturday I think we'll have a good idea whether we're on our way back or whether we've got deeper problems. I think we'll be in the next round of the cup and have 6 points.
You'll be forever in my family's memories and it was an honor and privilege to play and lead in the red and blue |
