Sooner rather than later the luck will run out. You can’t expect a miracle every season.

I'm not aware of any luck we've had this season.

I think he meant luck with taking chances with squad and preparation in a league you can't keep doing and think you'll keep getting away with it. It's been said nearly every summer apart from the one we got off to a flier in under Pardew (notice the correlation?). But it's not allowed to expect us to prepare properly like everyone else so it's excused every summer and now here we are.

Our trouble is we’re competing at this stage with the likes of Leicester, Everton and Bournemouth. All of whom won’t be going down in my opinion.

It’s comforting to look at the table and say we’re only 5 points off safety but it really needs to be the likes of Huddersfield and Brighton we are close to because they are the ones that will drop off.

Eddie Howe is a solid manager and Bournemouth bought the players we should have and Everton will sack Koeman and be fine.

We’ve left ourselves a mountain to climb because I do still see the likes of Brighton and Huddersfield going down but not sure how we get above them now.

Do you remember how dead and buried Leicester were a few seasons ago. Pipe down. Not ideal but a long way to go.

The issue I have is that we have toyed with relegation until the end for the last 3 seasons, Sunderland did exactly the same and it caught up with them. It will do with us too, if not this season then next, unless we get our house in order which doesn't seem to be happening. Stop gap manager after stop gap manager. No continuity and poor recruitment. I'll support us in the stands whichever division we are in but there is something not quite right within the upper echelons of the club which need fixing.

He didn't say he wasn't going anymore, although that may be the case. This is the first time I think we're done although I keep going and lose count at the number of mute supporters who probably claim they're keeping the faith.

Until we're showing a real chance of an escape I'm not going to let the emotions get to me when we haven't equipped ourselves properly in this amateurish shambles.

Good luck to Roy.

Sorry to interrupt you and your fellow belly aching friends. It obviously has cathartic benefits to some after a loss.

More like about 14 losses in 15 and 2 goals scored, with one being an own goal and nobody to put the ball between the posts. Still, the sun still rises and we should've kept Campbell and all would've been well. Knowing this since we'd made our minds up that Remy wasn't going to be signed obviously wasn't enough time or warning.

We had 3 points from 9 games under Holloway and then sacked him and cane good. Difference is we had forwards then and Murray to come back.

Good post. Even if Roy keeps us up he's not a long-term solution so we have to do it all again. Bizarre management of the club,

Now we have 3 points after 9.

This is what I'm clinging to at the moment, although this time around I think the league is a lot more competitive.

That's it for me. 3 points from nine games ANOTHER game without scoring and 4 points adrift of 19th at the end of October is nothing short of pathetic. Not to mention, November is probably the most crucial part of the season with so many winnable games, and to be without a striker through all of it (and probably December as well knowing the state of our medical staff) will end up costing us big time. Call me a pessimist all you want, but I really can't see any way out of this. Looks like our time is finally up.

Wow! Its a good job they put Winston Churchill in charge in 1940 and not you!
If we win next Saturday (which if you've seen West Ham play recently you'll know that's more than just a possibility) and results go our way we'll be 3 points from safety with 28 games to go.
But you think we're already doomed?

Oh wonderful. Saturday evening browse on here whilst eating my pizza and it's all doom and gloom as per.

Normal service has been resumed.

Let me point something out.
We weren't expected to beat Chelsea last week. People seemed to think today was going to he some sort of foregone conclusion. So it's all square isn't it. We can lose to west ham and mathematically still finish safe. Really wish people would calm down and engage brain

Ofcourse mathematically anything can happen, in theory man city can lose the next 29 games and go down.

But you need to be realistic and logical. The next 6 weeks at least we will have no recognized, experienced prem striker. That will hurt us.

Teams worth their salt will know how to open us up or shut up shop and the prem is full of that.

Sure, surprises do happen. But after 9 games, 3 points, only one goal scored from our players - it looks bleak.

Yesterday with two strikers to chose from, 3 points should have been in the bag - the game was for the taking, we won't have many games like that.

If we get 6 points from november, we go into december on 9 points, lets say its a christmas miracle and we finish the first half of the season on 18 points, we got it all to do again and hope everything aligns and quite frankly this is the kicker - we have been riding our luck like this for years now.

We're that desperate bloke in the casino, watching everyone else, hoping they lose and we get lucky - it just doesn't work like that.
