Interestingly, the atmosphere with Roy in charge compared to when we had Frank is so different. He is a thoroughly nice bloke. Certainly talks common sense and clearly has already bonded with the fans and players, He has already sorted out a formation that works better and knows his strongest options. Perhaps its a case of we are stuck with each other what ever happens - that possibly does not ignite a fury of hate mail whenever we lose.

I think everyone appreciates that the team looks well-organised and we're playing to our strengths now. Roy is doing the best he can with a squad that hasn't got a proper forward.

I agree. I just hope that even if the worst happens we stick with Roy and finally get some stability. The whole reason our squad is a mismatch of players is down to changing managers too often where each bring in their own players. Some very over paid players at the moment and a serious lack of depth in vital areas of the pitch. At last a manager who I think would be happy to stay and a coach who has good links to the club but also a good level of understanding of what the manager wants.
Some people are like Slinkies … not really good for anything, but you can’t help smiling when you see one tumble down the stairs. |

Southampton was sub par. Chelsea was above par. A point at Newcastle (the least we deserved) and we would -- net -- have achieved the results we needed to under Roy. He's got to do better than par to keep us up though. I think he can.
If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities. |

Remain together as a unit and continue with the improvements we've seen and I think we'll be fine. He has managed at the highest level, but he doesn't appear to have the ego that often goes with that. At times he does appear almost a bit too much of an FA man afraid to rock the boat, but I can cope with that. I agree that whatever happens we need to try and get him to stay on at least for another season after this. I don't think Hodgson was ever going to get anyone's hearts racing, but I think perhaps in the end he is the ideal man for Palace. My only reservation remains his age, but if he can cope with the stress then who cares.
