If you include Burley, that makes two seriously flawed appointments.

Two out of how many?

So I'd say we agree that he's hit the mark manager wise more often than not..

And well he knew he'd made a mistake with FdB and gave him the bullet sooner than anyone in the history of the league. But then apparently he also drags his feet with decision making.

Absolutely he dropped the ball with the striker but let's be fair he's normally found us a good manager every time he's had to.

But that doesn't fit with the current anti Parish sentiment so maybe I should shut up.

Noades did appoint Mullery the worst manager in the history of the club.
All this one striker is nonsense, we have more than one striker, injured or not very good I grant you, but more than one.

None of us really know if SP is the problem but so many things have gone wrong we have to question why? Our club is the laughing stock of the PL, with the players we've got we should be at least mid-table. So why are we in this mess?? I for the life of me can't why but I'm fed up with it big time. I am not a quitter and will stick with it through this awful time.

His pedigree was winning the Dutch league with the biggest club in a very small country. Fvck me, Steve McLaren won it as well. Jordan called it right and I thought the same. So did Bexleydave but we were pilloried as usual for not donning the red and blue specs that make you blind.

Who played centre forward vs Newcastle? Must have invisible super powers if we have one.

The good manager appointments in the prem have been because they were out of work and wanted to come. I'll add Pardew to that because he wanted out of Newcastle and into Palace. Parish deserves credit for signing them but let's not pretend he identified them after lots of searching and analysis. They needed work and we needed someone before anyone else, which in 2 cases is the fault of the club for being in that situation so early. Holloway just wasn't good enough although the shyte recruitment didnt help him.

Pulis. Took forever dithering over him with games being chalked off.

Sam. Took for fvcking ever again sacking Pardew.

When he did have a choice to make he thought he'd be smart like the manager who makes leftfield subs to look smart. I didn't see that one coming because he was so clearly unsuitable and under qualified.

So Silva. Dunno what happened there but obviously, to me anyway and not those who said how he gave up for hull v us wasn't worthy of hiring, is miles better than waffling Frank. The bullsh1t I smelt a mile off.

Dyche. Making Parish look a fool this season. And rumour is he wasn't deemed a good fit. So f'ing Frank was. Jesus.

Pellegrino. We were clearly waiting for him and ended up with Frank. Shambolic.

So when the best manager is available without any other temptations his manager calls are spot on. When there is a choice, well we've just seen it. Tries to wind the clock forward to what the same players couldn't do with Pardew. Yep, he knows his onions does Steve.

He should leave this to a football person and do business on other stuff in the background which is also important.

Why do you think it took him five years to even think about installing mandatory features for disabled people? Because that's not what was important to him. Everything he's done since arriving here was to make himself look the bee's knees. He stumbled his way into the Premier League, especially after Dougie left, and now he's there he hasn't a clue what to do, so he's blaming all of it on everyone else he can. He thinks being a Palace fan makes him King of the Hill and doesn't think he needs to listen to anyone else. Any smart chairman would give their manager the money and say to them "This is our budget and if you want to use it to buy 5 center backs, you live or die by it." He should've thought through what tactics he wanted his team to play, got a man in who fit them, and then just let him get on with it. But no, he tried to be the scout, the players' agent, the coach AND the manager all at once, all while keeping his wallet as tightly closed as possible, because he thinks he knows best about everything. And that's the way it's going to carry on because he's got an ego bigger than his nose. This isn't Crystal Palace F.C. anymore, it's Steve Parish F.C.

What a bizarre post full of contradictions.

One minute he should just let the manager buy who he wants and the next he should tell the manager what tactics to play - I'm confused.

The main criticism of SP on here appears to be that he should have told the last few managers to get a striker in, so this implies people expect him to interfere.

Surely he has given the last few managers pretty much freedom to buy who they want - Pardew was allowed to buy Benteke and Cabaye at great cost and massive wages and BFS was allowed to buy 2 poor left backs in the last window. Is that not what you are criticising SP for?

I'm not saying he hasn't made mistakes etc but all the problems are not down to him

Don't try and rewrite history. Pulis wasn't interested in staying with us, he didn't even want to manage us in the first place, he tried to rip us off and that has been proven. Allardyce left because he retired from club management.

he took forever signing Pulis because he didn't want to manage us in the first place. I recall that we approached him twice

We didn't get Pellegrino because he chose Southampton over us, is that really Parish's fault, if I was a manager (and not a Palace fan) and had a choice between managing Southampton or Palace, I know where I would go.

Pretty sure when looking at De Boer he took advice from Allardyce, there are footballing people who play a part in some of the decisions that he makes.
