For me when we get relegated I will be disappointed but I have always felt it was inevitable.
My boy on the other hand is eight, he has supported Palace since he was 4 and asked me to buy him a shirt. I must admit I wasn’t overly bothered if he did or hunted glory...I didn’t want the same for him as I have had for myself, 30 years of well being a Palace fan!
It will truly be the end of an era for him, he thinks we are a prem team and beating Liverpool, Chelsea etc is what we do!! He has been spoilt really and the next few years will teach him what it’s truly like supporting Palace.
He loves Selhurst and we have had some amazing days there in the past few years, it’s funny really because although indifferent to him choosing Palace as his team if he were to turn his back on them and ask me for a Chelsea shirt now that is what would hurt the most, not our inevitable return to the championship.
For the record I still think it won’t be this season!
Coyp.

Déjà vu matey
Albeit my lads 21 I'm 50

He started liking football at about 17 on TV etc
Then got season ticket 2 year ago
Keeps asking
" Dad, why palace"
I've had 40 years suck it up ha ha
Highs and lows
Not sure where the scale tips at the moment.
Been there with 4 zip home to Grimsby with 30 away fans in the old triangle away end laughing at all 7k of us in 50 k stadium
Life and football are cyclical I'm afraid and this maybe our down bit.
Still never mind whatever happens i still have to go to work and pay bills.
Makes the week a bit sh** but hey
beers wonderful and your kiddy won't stop wanting to support the mighty eagles.
We will soare again and if nothing else must have some of the greatest fans and atmospheres in football.
In your blood for ever for our sins as football fans the world over.

Not sure where you are mate, but I been to Grimsby a few times. Most of our lot were off their heads loving life. It was places like that and BuryandBolton that's why I love palace.
I went to Bolton from near Leeds. Was so f*** ed I had to lie down on the terraces all match in the middle of the Palace. Our boys were brilliant Fully understood where I was. Got up near the end and watched 5 minutes. Terrible.
Now I'm tooo old for that but hell was that brilliant.
Stayed in Bolton that night.
