He was just to the left in the row behind me and I was one of the fans to help him up to the walkway. He was slumped in his seat for a while and when a fellow fan discovered he wasn't breathing anymore and his pulse had stopped that's when we decided to move him. Although there were plenty of stewards attending the situation, it was quite some minutes before the medical help arrived or anyone apart from us fans took any action.

The last I heard was as someone has already pointed out that they did eventually get him breathing again. Really hope he made it and is recovering.

sorry my friend you are wrong defibs need tobe in contact with the skin to deliver the shock as they cant read whether the heart is beating or not.
sadly who every is training you is misleading you. all training videos tell you to expose the chest area, there is no time that you endanger the person whos heart has stopped not even if they have a pacemaker or a tens machine fitted, they are by all intents and purposes dead and you are trying to bring them back.
good thing is you care and would do your best to save them

This is great news. Well done to all those involved, not just the medical staff but also the supporters who helped out. Your quick actions have no doubt prevented this from being alot worse. You should all be proud.

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!!

On the basis that one of the scenarios was a pacemaker & the strict instruction is to never place a pad over or near such a device as a) the AED won't shock correctly and b) it could cause damage to the device which, in turn, causes further injury.

I've not seen training videos but have been instructed by medics from an ICVD team in a leading London hospital as it is critical info for a close family member. They expose the entire torso, not just the chest area as different devices are implanted in different locations - sometimes even on the opposite side to the heart itself.

Whilst it still possible to use an AED on such a patient you have know where & how and this info is not (usually) included within instructions. We have very specific instructions for our particular situation.

More importantly, good to hear he's on the mend - hope he heals quickly.
