And you and Alan are Parish's chief disciples, Ferrari and hair wash and blow dryers. He'd sell Benteke and buy back Campbell for 50 pence and you'd believe he had no choice and had to do it if he said so.

But you're right about Murray wanting to leave. And I like that in a player. Actually wanting to play. Shame when it means he has to go. Have to look at Pardew for some of these players he tried to force out. The replacements or lack of are down to them both in their too pally for business relationship.

I think the major issue isn't that Murray was sold (£10m for Murray, that was a very good deal I thought at the time), it's that it wasn't reinvested into a new striker.

He was sold for £4 mil. Pardew preferred Wickham, Gayle, then there was Campbell and bumfluff. Pardew just had to pull apart things to show how good he was but he just hadn't the eye for talent or assembling a team.

Neither is Dwight Gayle

.. but better than any fit striker we have now.

Remember Zaha's missed header against Newcastle last week ? do I have to say more?

I must have just completely made that up then. Terrible decision in that case.

Not quite sure Murray would have put away the chance, if a chance it was, Zaha did in the ninety-seventh minute yesterday, though.

Parish tried to be ahead of the game when he sold Murray,he considered his age and thought £4 million was a good deal.Murray was never a nippy player but had a well grooved strikers Instinct sharpened by his days playing for Carlisle ,Rochdale etc.Parish then went on to leave us with only ONE proven striker at the start of this season, clearly we need a better chairman,I don't doubt his passion and love for the club but his football nouce is a major worry. If you need further convincing he demanded that Pardew (against his better judgement sign the fat boy Sako on silly wages.

Parish doesn't decide what players he wants to sell, it's down to the manager at that time

I see that you're still giving your opinions on past events but stating them as facts to suit your personal prejudices

I was always a big fan of Murray and wish he would have stayed, but he didn't. We got a reasonable price for a player in what appeared at the time to be the twilight of his career and he's had to work really hard to finally get a proper chance in the PL. Shame it's for Brighton, but so as he doesn't score against us then that's fine by me (FFS Murray could come back to haunt us if he does). When Bentenke is fit I would still pick him over Murray and to be honest I would pick a fit and interested Wickham over Murray too.
