I'm pleased for Glenn, just wish his goals were consolations rather than winners. A bit like when we sold Jedi, we got a very good fee at the time, but missed his contribution after he'd gone.

Always liked Glenn, he's a "proper" footballer from the old school. I am not sure he would have had enough playing time if he'd stayed with us so it's good that he's found his niche as the right man with the right club (...for him, unfortunately) at the right time. Good luck to him.

I will always stick up for Super Al and to be fair he wasn't around the place when Glenn was doing his stuff and we all knew that he had what was required for The Prem so him letting Glenn go was more about understandable ignorance rather than in competence. I tell you was around though for the whole time....Parish. Now, who out of all of us as Chairman would have allowed that to happen?

Agree a proper player, could have played in any era, I didn’t think age would matter much , as like a lower tier Sheringham , his football is played in his head rather than his legs. My favourite number 9 since Johnson. Still better than a fit Wickham. Shame , hope he’s injured when we play them.

Was he sent off or taken off before he got a red? Can’t temember . He was unplayable that day , bullied them. 2 goals.

Like a Paul McGrath (defender) who could read a game to make up for his lack of speed in his later playing days.

Fair point but aligned with that we have to take into account Glenn's sincere delight that he was going back to the South Coast when transferred. He was superb for us, a true professional who genuinely affected results, so maybe we have to accept the emotional disconnect from the club stemmed from the injury and there was nothing that could stop the inevitable move so maybe I was being being harsh on Parish previously.

I know he wore 8 (as did wright I think at Arsenal) , but they were both proper number 9s.

He’s in a purple patch at the moment , that won’t last . But reckon he will be about til his late 30s. Not always starting , but like crouch (who’s scored 3 from the bench this season).
