I realise that the basis of some accusations are very severe and terrible including vile crimes like rape, but is this getting to the stage where many seem suffering from some post-modern day angst? Where they have to also be a victim no matter how small the perceived offence.

Either a large section of men involved in lad culture should be locked up (being a loser isn't strictly a crime), or there could be an overaction to the initial cases which in some instances may be self-serving.
