I guess they were more than allegations then?

That's quite a big assumption. You could be right but before the facts are known that isn't a nice thing to say in view of what has happened.

and because they haven't actually been reporting them to the police when they've occurred.

I don't mind if cases get revisited later when there's new evidence or further victims, but reporting them somewhere close to the time they initially happened should be required.

No it seems that in some cases they're reported incidents, like we saw with Savile, and they've just been discouraged from pursuing them either by agents, the police or by other people in the industry.

The Hollywood police are notoriously protective of their celebrity benefactors.

Turns out Weinstein had some private security firms working for him to suppress allegations, dig up dirt on people who might accuse him, including masquerading as representative of a women's rights group to see what the individual in question was alleging.

Not really, there's only two assumptions you can make: He didn't do it, but couldn't cope with the shame and stigma of being accused.

Or, he did it.

It was phrased as a question after all.

The same ones who sell their mug shots to the media before the cuffs have even come off?

You can't suppress a complaint to the police, no matter who you hire to do what. Unless you've bribed the police themselves.

I think what you say is part of the problem though.

'There is only two assumptions you can make'

We know nothing about this matter, its not for us to make assumptions at all.

It seems people can make assumptions often without any validity.

Anyway its not appropriate at this time surely.

I must have been in a bunker at the time but this is the first I've heard of this.

He 'showed her off'? That'd be like Steve Parish inviting Barcelona to Selhurst to show off Jordan Mutch.

I distrust him even more now. The economy and nuclear weapons are one thing but there's no excusing such poor taste in women.

When there is a fall from grace some people take their own lives. From the guilty to the innocent.

It's not uncommon.

Humans are rarely good at being proportionate....in part because it's far easier to go between extremes of acceptance and hate than deal with the sullied reality that a middle exists where people are often sh1tty but not monsters.

People are always very good at being fair to themselves but often not very good at being fair to others. That's human nature and more a recognition than a barbed criticism.

However, fairness is better than the alternative and worth standing for.

That'd be my assumption too tbh.

When the news initially mentioned his death my first thought was suicide. Some time later suicide was confirmed.
This is a man who is used to the media/cameras/print along with the scrutiny that this position brings.............so why do this if innocent?

Sorry, but his actions prove his guilt.

You are inferring a conclusion from actions but without evidence.

We should wait for evidence and process.....But with him dead that's going to be difficult.
