Great R4 programme about football linguistics. Well worth a listen. If you don't listen you'll be sick as a parrot. Give 110% and listen, you'll be over the moon. What footy cliches do you like / loathe?

Irritating presenter but interesting programme. My most-hated cliche is any variant on great left foot/wand of a left foot, etc - a phrase which I've only ever heard used to describe left-footed players. There's no point remarking on someone's ability with their left unless they're naturally right-footed, otherwise you're just saying 'he's good at kicking the ball.' You never hear anyone described as having a great right foot, do you?
