The soreness...two days later shows us all that we put the effort in! ;o)

Hope its not too long before you start on the classes etc with your mates.

I can see it being soon to be honest, it's just getting the confidence to do it. After Monday and walking around in a swimsuit and not caring after, I can't really see anything bothering me lol.

As i mentioned earlier, i did a Body Balance class for the first time a couple of weeks back..age ranges 18 to 75, everyone is more concerned with focusing on what they're being asked to do then anything else...It's a mixture of Tai Chi, Pilates and Yoga and you can go at your own pace / ability...as I had to!

;o)

i prefer long distance cycling in the calm of a sunny day on the quiet roads and paths that you may be lucky enough to have access to. Better air, better light, free, get to see the world, less noisy than the gym's unwelcome music.

the designated cycle route from Crystal Palace to Bromley is pretty good. What other routes do people on here like to cycle ?

Has anyone found it beneficial in easing anxiety and depression?

I have been told that running or walking outdoors is better for these types of things (Plus they are free), though any form of exercise will help.

Well I decided against the gym idea, for now, and went to an aqua aerobics class on Monday. I was so scared as have not warn a swimsuit in about 10 years. I had absolutely nothing to worry about. It really was fun and the people lovely. The instructor was like a female Hitler however she did motivate us and made us enjoy it at the same time.

There is a point here lol, I get anxiety and depression however walking out of that class I walked with my head high and a big smile on my face. I was thinking about going tonight but still a little sore from Monday so will defo go again on Monday.

Good for you Steph please keep going. There has been a lot of positive supportive comments on this thread well done to all its makes a refreshing change from the usual petty point scoring.

I recall the Tommy Cooper joke :

"I went to the gym the other day.Up 123, down 123, up 123.... - Then the other eyelid" !

Other people looking doesn't bother me . In reality they aren't interested in or taking any notice of me just the same as I am not taking notice of them.

It's getting to the mindset to do it . Today has been a better day I have come back on here to post after a while not being here. I haven't eaten but I have got dressed properly for the first time since Sunday and I had a bath so that's something

I used to use a gym and it cost £55 a month - had a pool, sauna etc that I never used.

Moved to the puregym in Purley which costs £20 a month - no pool etc but is open 24hrs which works great for me as I can go anytime I feel like it (usually 6:30am!)- Surprisingly smart places and as it's a chain I would expect the one near Sydenham is very similar - Wife does lots of classes there and books them via an app. Saved us £70 a month on fees

Little steps Michaela, please try and eat properly. Maybe go for a small walk if there is a park near you. Phone family or a friend meet them for a coffee. Take each day at a time. Any yes post on here, despite all the noise there are some good people who can at least offer encouragement.
