Great games. Dean Austin who up until those games I thought was utter sh@t played incredibly and showed huge spirit.

I actually only went to the Pompy game. I watched the Stockport game on TV as I was in court the following day on a misdemeanour and thought I was going away for a while.

Little did I know that 24 hours later Palace would still be up and I would still be out!

I was lucky enough to go to both matches. The Portsmouth one was such an unexpected result, we went more in hope than expectation. Stockport was not a great away day, just a great ending!

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

Totally understand the 1990 Palace beating Liverpool, only managed to see on TV , wish I was there. Palace beating Brighton being the first winners in the stadium was such a great win! After meeting fellow Palace fans & going to a bar in Lewes

Just the two i was going to mention...mind you the 1990 Fa Cup Semi Final and the game in 2010 against Sheff Wed were special as well...too many to choose from tbh...I remember at the Pompey game everyone trying to use their phones after Dougie scored his second and the masts couldnt take the traffic...everyone was getting engaged signals and not able to get through...somethings never change lol

That day was great but Wrexham away was unbelievable too, remember we had 4 special trains and at least 10 coaches for a mid week game

The Wrexham game was fantastic, great game of football with six good goals, us winning 4-2 and scoring 2 goals in the final couple of minutes, causing the first home defeat for Wrexham that season.. brilliant support by our fans, as you said 4 specials but I'm sure we took more than 20 coaches that night, Palace fans everywhere..

The game I went to 81' was one special half full and two coaches.
The atmosphere after the goal you'd have thought that there was the same amount as the game you attended

I would be astounded if any of us 14,500 at Villa Park in April 1990 chose another match as their top away day above it.

It was certainly my best. The 3-1 win at Brighton recently was also very good. As was the 1-0 win at West Ham to secure our first Premier League survival.

I was at the semi v the scouse, what a fantastic second half and extra time, another great game and amazing feeling afterwards.. cldn't get a ticket for our win at the Mansex so watched the beam back at Selhurst.. will never forget how the Red 'n Blue bar erupted when we first equalised and then scored two more, the whole place seemed to rise at the same time.. fans, tables, chairs, glasses all in the air at the same time.. at the end of the evening the floor looked wrecked, a real mess, but what a night..

A few pop into my head

Reading away ... Elm Park ... 96 or something like that ... 5-1 and five different scorers. It was terracing too.

Oxford away 97ish ... we won 4-1 ... at beginning of second half (when it was 1-1) I shouted at Paul Whitehorse (Oxford keeper) to “let a few more in”, he turned round and gave me a thumbs up.

They say hard work never hurt anyone ... but why take a chance?

yeah, my bad ! And only few months from the 9 nil thrashing, those unexpected results stay with you forever, doubt many palace even had money on us to win, i know i didnt even think of having a bet, wonder what the odds were?

We were 150/1 to win the cup before a ball was kicked, as I used to back us e/w to win the league (whatever division we were in) and cup each season. Late 80's early nineties were very profitable!

I quite like Norwich away. I stay in the Georgian Town House hotel, which gives me what would be a 30 minute walk to the ground. However, there are many pubs on the way, so it takes me a fair bit longer, ending in the beer garden of The Compleat Angler by the ground.

About 10 years ago I recall a woman looking out of the hotel window overlooking the ground, and she was mercilessly chanted at by Palace fans about looking like Pat Butcher from Eastenders. Football humour can be fantastic

After the game, me and missus Hillbilly had walked back to the hotel, only to find that dinner wasn't going to be served until 7pm (I think)
5 minutes walk from the hotel was a park, with a licenced café in it. It was a sunny afternoon so we ordered a jug of sangria on an outside table.
"Oh, I'm sorry", says the waitress, "You must be ordering food if you want alcohol"
"OK", I says "can we have a jug of sangria and a small bowl of nachos, to share ?"

And fair play to the waitress, she guessed we were alright, so took the order. 40 minutes later, back to the hotel for some food, wine and sleep.

And Palace lost.

Yeah, but........did you get your nuts in!!
