Felt a brush on his shoulder so he went down, "it's a natural reaction".

God help him when he goes Christmas shopping then as he will be going down every couple of minutes whilst out buying his pressies.

We do have short memories.

Townsend took a dive in the same box against Arsenal last season.

Terrible dive and decision on Saturday. But I don't think there's a team that doesn't do it.

Time to move on.

Now here's Wright, his first chance to see what he can do, and he's through, it's Wright, ohhhh what an impact by the substitute. And it's Ian Wright who's sent the Palace fans into ecstasy!

Don't think we do, he should of been punished retrospectively too IF he dived... any player who dives, fakes injury and cheats to gain an advantage should be punished, Palace players included.. you say "time to move on".. well if you mean put it behind us, stop moaning, and move on then I totally disagree.. it's time to deal with all the cheats more harshly and retrospectively to stop the cheating b*stards otherwise football will never move on.. it will allow the cheats to continue "winning" unfair advantages which has to be stopped.. you don't get all this cr*p in rugby and other sports..

Bollocks. Martinez cleaned him out.

Totally this. There was never any suggestion of a dive...not even from Wenger

Players who dive should be fined 3 weeks wage, banned for six games and the club deducted three points.

If you want to stamp out the behaviour, you have need to have an incentive to the club, team and player to avoid cheating.

As it stands, if he's banned for even three games, he earned his club 2 points. Most managers would take losing a player for 3 games, in exchange for 2pts.

Maybe you're right. Even if retrospective action is taken and Niasse does receive a one-match ban, the only team to benefit from this will be Southampton as they are Everton's next opponents. It won't do us any good as the goal will still stand and the result, a draw that could otherwise have been a win, can't be overturned.

Something needs to be done during the game if there is ever to be any justice with these decisions.

Incidentally, this was the reason I brought Leighton Baines into my fantasy team last week and made him captain. I just knew this kind of thing would happen.

There's a DJ on Absolute radio called Andy Bush, he's an Everton fan and he played "Fall at your feet" by Crowded House earlier and apologised to CPFC fans for Niasse blatantly taking a dive.

Optimistic as ever

His remarks make it clear that he dived. Convicted out of his own mouth.

And Unsworth said he "hadn't seen the incident" which is manager-speak for "I know fine well that wasn't a penalty".

Arrogant arsehole.

Here are three cases from the panel that has been operating in Scotland since 2011.

[Link]

The second and third are cases of clearly no contact (and again how any referee could possibly award those is completely beyond me, they're so obvious) but the first one looks very like the Niasse incident. The perpetrator was banned for two matches.

That video also made me wonder; if Taylor had thought Dann had shoved Niasse surely he would have booked him? Or is that dealt with by the new double-jeopardy rule? In the case in the video the ref also ordered the defender off.

Haven’t seen the game but a lot of people are writing online that they expect him to receive a ban once footage has been reviewed under the new guidelines. If this is the case it is recognition that he cheated and as such the goal should be taken away from Everton and the result should stand at 2-1. There’s no way that if retrospective evidence reveals that a player has cheated as decided by a panel of experts that they should gain a point. Players need to know that they will gain their team no advantage. I would want our players treated the same way.

Blimey be careful what you wish for, Wilf is no stranger to going down a bit too easily...
