I believe it's 14 points from our last 10 games (0 from 7 before that). If we get 14 from the next 10 and 14 from the 10 after that we will be on 42 points from 37 games. That sounds OK but it's obviously a very big 'if'. The worry is that the start we had means that there is very little margin for error. I think (hope) me will gradually clamber away from the drop zone but it will be a slow process - Roy has said much the same. I do think it's particularly important to get points from the next two games as the two after that look daunting.

42 points based on the league at the moment will be more than enough in my opinion. Possibly under 40 points this season and you may well survive. There are no teams cut adrift and the league looks ultra tight at the bottom. A couple of teams will pull themselves away by their transfer dealings in Jan as about 10 teams will be looking for a new striker, perhaps even more than 1 including us. If we are where we are now at the end of the year or higher then I think we will be in good shape. After Saturday you cannot underestimate the win last night.

tbf though this was the run of 8 or 9 games that we had to get points from after playing the top teams, I hoped we would have had a few more in the bag but hopefully the confidence will now be rising and a good result against Leicester will but us on the road to mid table

Ended up 0-0 West Ham and West Brom. West Ham very nearly snatching it at the end. This meaning that we're 18th, but level on points with West Brom in 17th. Only 3 points and GD between us and 13th (also happens to be Brighton.

I can see West Ham just about staying up if they carry on the way they are playing now. I can see a number of teams fading right now, them being Newcastle, Stoke, West Brom, Huddersfield and Brighton. Swansea already down in my opinion.

The premier is a split league.
The top 10 and the bottom 10.
There are 4 points between the bottom 9 (plus Swansea).
We have fought our way back and with any luck will hang in the premier.
But to move into the top 10 we need something very different.
We need a new board and new owners (and a new stadium) with very deep pockets.
Without that, we will always struggle along with the other bottom half.
Sadly that is very unlikely for many reasons......location, existing owner pride and the future, and also, Im not sure its what the fans want.
As things stand my view is we should just avoid relegation this season. But I am a very biased Palace fan. Luck will play a large part. The balance between success and failure in the bottom half is marginal.
At least where we are, we are safe as a club which is great. Ambition to get better will require massive change and that is the big question for us all.....do we want it? I think not.

Everton (10) are racing away (10 points from 15), but everyone else is sinking or cratering, except us!

11: Southampton - 5 points from 15
12: Huddersfield - 3 points from 15
13: Brighton - 1 point from 15 (the draw with us)
14: Bournemouth - 3 points from 15
15: Stoke - 3 points from 15
16: Newcastle - 1 point from 15
17: West Brom - 4 points from 15
18: Crystal Palace - 9 points from 15
19: West Ham - 5 points from 15
20: Swansea - 4 points from 15

We are the clear standout of the bottom 11, and only one point fewer than Everton over the last 5 games. If we can get 4 points from the next two games, we'll be set up nicely (away to Leicester and Swansea).

We don't do possession; we do defense and attack. Everything else is just wa**ing with a football.

How many form points do you get for going away to a team that hasn't lost at home since God knows when and scored four away last time out, and not merely turning them over but playing them off the park and stuffing them three-nil?

Was interested to note Oddscheckers Relegation Odds today.
They are as follows:

1 Swansea
2 WBA
3 Bournemouth
4 Brighton
5 Newcastle
6 Huddersfield
7 Stoke
8 Palace

Okay, so there will inevitably be fluctuations during the second half of the PL between now and May, but if the bookies see it this way then that's encouraging.
