A distinct irony is that most people of a more extreme bent tend to think that the media is conspiring against them and their political stance. A large portion of the right and the left, tend towards this view, and its increasingly so the more extreme their views are on that spectrum - and this becomes a convenient means of dismissing the information contained within (Oh its The Mail so its nonsense or its the Guardian its rubbish) - The rhetoric of the insulated far left and right (everyone else is being lied to, and are sheeple etc).

It is utter s**te. Personally, I avoid the tabloids like the plague (Left and right wing) and if I'm reading a newspaper avoid opinion sections, columnists etc because that's a lot of bias filler.

That said, one thing that true is that the media generally does have a bias towards centre left / Right and liberal - because, unsurprisingly, because the media tends to reflect the majority of society.

We all have opinions, but when some are driven by a blinkered, rigid party political or ideological zealotry, then there is no objectivity and no reasoning.
