Why don't they inform the police, rather than breaking the law themselves?

The police decide whether someone is doing something legally or illegally, not someone in a balaclava with a couple of mates and a camera.

The police are busy, getting them to come out to a crime in progress these days is difficult. No joke, a friends kid was beaten up by other kids, who threatened to stab him, and the police weren't interested in pressing charges - The same kids girlfriend was also beaten up, by a girl with the other lads. This other girl is currently on bail for sexual assault of a 14 year old girl - and she's not been arrested for breaching her bail.

The police just don't have the manpower or the finance to do their job properly. Let alone enforcing the law in the countryside.

If the police were persecuting them they'd be shutting the saboteurs down preemptively. I don't blame them for being pejorative to people who are wasting their time, not doing as they're told to and are harassing people doing something legal.

Our resident hol policeman can answer your other claims.

Maybe persecution is too harsh a term but I could go with any term that embodies an unequal consideration of the respective positions of each party.
By the way is the waste of police time through the illegal activity of saboteurs any more a waste of their time through illegal forms of hunting (which happens) or trespassing by the hunt on private land (which happens) or the obstruction of public roads by the hunt and their followers (which happens)?

You say it's been re-legalised. Really? First I have heard of it.

Don't like hunting foxes but as a sport (without foxes) it's pretty much extreme cross-country which is great fun so I am told. I used to enjoy hashing which is considerably nearer to the ground.

Good point, so what were they doing on horses with dogs?

Everyone is a pussy these days; if your sabbing, you shouldn't be upset if your on the receiving end of some aggro, and likewise fox hunting.

Yeah I know, it might be legal technically, and you might have permission, but lets be honest, everyone thinks you're a bit of a c**t and regards what your doing as sick, vile and pointlessly cruel.

Maybe they should just get the sabs and the hunts together and let them beat ten bells out of one another.

This is true in the rural community in which I live. The Police would not come near a Hunt to check on illegal hunting. When I was broken into recently the only contact I had with the Police was an email asking what was taken. At night there may be one copper covering a 25-30 mile or more square and on rural roads that means you don't expect someone to get to you for 30 minutes.

What, following a trail left by a bag of scent? To whom or what are they being cruel? Is scent sentient?

In England fox hunting - i.e. ripping apart a fox - is illegal and rightly so.

Mind you, if you want to have a go at someone you can always go to Canada where it's still legal

Really? You must have been looking at a different incident. The various footages I saw showed a woman shouting 'let go of my horse' multiple times and the guy simply not letting go. He kept pulling hard on the left rein causing the horse to spin. He at no point let go of the rein. He was not hanging on to protect himself, he was hanging on.

Maybe your argument is that had he let go she would have had an opportunity to charge at him, presumably whilst still shouting let go of my horse. It's an ancient Sussex battle cry so I am told.

So, I stand corrected. She did indeed ride at the Sab and he did indeed grab the reins to protect himself.

What a vile bunch this lot would appear to be.

I suppose that is what we should expect from our Sussex neighbours with their big new homes and feeling of entitlement.

The police are on the side of the establishment, breaking up pickets on a strike etc, and those out hunting tend to be the same ilk, so no chance of plod bothering on an illegal hunt, i would set off a few fireworks on hunt day if i lived near enough, if a horse bolted as a rocket went off by his head and the lady came off on her head all the better! If she died its one less cruel cnut in this overcrowded island,,,something she would probably be in favour of!

Don't worry, these hunters aren't sentient so it doesn't matter.

Maybe they could hunt each other alternate weekends.
They all obviously need a bit of blood lust to satisfy their feeble minds.

I can't respond to you directly with what I actually think with the 'rules' so I will just say that I think that this sums up the mentality of some 'anti' types nicely. They are scum.

Scum fighting scum. A lot of it about these days.
However anti hunting you are, and I am. There is no justification for that sort of idiocy.
