Was having a pint there when it happened. Big fuss over nothing, couple of kids in gangs had a bit of a ruckus as far as I could tell.

turns out it was an argument/fight between 2 guys on the platform, half of the west end shut down for couple hours on britains busiest shopping day ! people running for their lives and all for 2 guys shouting, apparently there was no gun shot, just shows how the herd mentality can spiral!

And yet how many times have we heard so many claim 'we will not let terrorism defeat us into changing our lives'. Well, looks like it already has and in a very big way. Two guys have a fight and hundreds panic with many getting injured and wild imaginations of gun fire. If the attacks hadn't taken place then neither would have this one. The sooner people accept that they have lost this 'fight' the better otherwise they will simply prolong the pain and suffering demonstrated yet again yesterday. The media is also to blame for publicising and dramatising the attacks that have already occurred, playing directly into the hands of those responsible.

Great post europalaxe. Can't believe I'm say for this, but I hope we all stand up like that Millwall fan during the Borough Market attacks and shout "fcuk you, I'm Palace" or whoever local team you support rather than following herd mentality and run off...Though, of course, it is difficult to say how we would all react in a panic situation aye

I don't blame the police I would rather they over react and shut down an area than do the opposite. The tragedy in Tunisia was made worse by the inaction of the police.

Hopefully this was a good exercise for the emergency services and hopefully we will never need them.

I am concerned about the panicking of the public. This is the second instance where people have been hurt due to crowd stampede (tube bomb). Not sure what we can do about that. Like the other OP I would hope that men (and yes I am being sexist) would stand their ground and protect women and children. It may not be fashionable to say but guys that is our job.
