That's an excellent post. Roy is ruthless but is also a really nice guy. Very nice balance to have and he carrys it well.

There's a big difference between "If you work on this and that and show me X, Y and Z you can get back in the first team" and "F*** of and go and watch the U23s till you see how it's done, you muppet".

I wanted Jokanovic, the current Fulham manager, to come in - but the ex-manager Roy's doing a great job. Long may it continue - let's get that win Tuesday boys!

If he does five years for us then he could just be the guy to cement us in the top division...

Do we actually know that De Boer said that (or similar) or was it just someone with an axe to grind having a moan?

I have met Roy several times now... he’s a very humble and caring guy

No wonder the team are reacting positively across the board

There should also be some credit here for ‘Ray Lewington’ who works tirelessly for his friend Roy

Nice to see everyone being so so positive for a change...!

I think Roy is showing his integrity, ‘resting’ crowd favourites

It will be interesting who he attracts to the club in January and who leaves for pastures new..?

Coyp

RIP dear Staffie

Irrespective of what he said what happened on the pitch was toilet.

pastures new. Puncheon. Past Palace performances are in the past. Futures elsewhere.

If we are to play Benteke, RLC, Zaha and Townsand (which we have too) then the formation has to be 4231. Benteke up top with RLC inbetween Zaha and Townsand. Behind them Milo and Cabaye and then the the 4 defenders. I think this will get the best of us going forward but can't really argue with what Roy has done to date.
Just saying, like!

i agree if Benteke plays we have to go 4231 - but he didn't 2nd half on Sat and for large periods we look ineffective. Wilf only went wide last 5 minutes

BTW whilst I'm not knocking Roy ,he has done well, having Sakho and Wilf back has clearly benefitted the team - 2 players that weren't available to the previous manager.

I put Roy in the same category as Benitez and Silva all very good managers working with limited resources. I have been particularly impressed with how quick he has assessed and adjusted to the strengths and weaknesses of the side. He rewards good performances and drops those out of form. But he has done the right thing with Hennessey by effectively saying, "keep putting the effort in and you will get your chance". Speroni and Dann now know they will have to produce good training performances to knock Hennessey/Tomkins off their spots. This is good management, its got players fighting for places rather than just turning up and expecting to play. The right purchases in the window and he could turn us into a real force to be reckoned with.

Brede Hangeland now a pundit in Norway says Roy and a guy named Pardew are the two best managers he has played under!
With Roy he says, everybody knew what was their task and training was boring, because it had so many repetitions, but it paid off

He has got a lot right, especially with playing Tomkins today (and WH too for that matter), but I hope he does swap RLC and wilf. RLC is 10/cm not a winger, I think we didn't get so much out of him today as a result.

All I would say is RLC scored, and Wilf created pretty much every opportunity we had. Not our best performance but I will take the 3 points and leave Roy too it.

Where as training under Pards was a complete dodle. Sit about, chat about the fanny they’re all getting stuck into and have a kick about, then f*** off home.
