By his standards, the last two games have been poor. He knew it last week..shaking is head...and having a go at himself..

Today he was immense. Wow...what a change 7 days can make.
He was first to the ball, attacking well down the wings...and back to the Wardy we all know.

Credit where credit is due...

Aren't Ward, Zaha and Speroni the only ones left from the promotion season?

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

Ah, Damo. I hope he forgives the omission.

Oh dear, looks like Roy's decision was the right one as neither had any joy against Joel Ward

Easy to be wise after the event aye mate. Being a smarmy pr*ck replying to everyone’s post that said that ward hadn’t been good , which he hadn’t , is a bit pathetic.
Well played Ward though.

Well played Wardy immense goal line clearance when at 0-0, who knows what the outcome could have been had they opened the scoring, as earlier poster remarked the whole of the Arthur gave 30 seconds applause, well done.

Ward was immense today. His limited ability and lack of pace could’ve been an issue but it wasnt. The goal line clearance had us all on our feet at that end and was simply superb and at such a crucial time.
He made numerous other good interceptions and his reading of the game was excellent. Also did some good work going forward.

His effort and commitment rubbed off on the whole team and I can forgive him for not being the quickest or most talented when he puts in a performance like that.

I was at West Brom earlier in the season for the 0-0 draw and he was one of the main reasons we got a valuable point there, arguably our best player on the day.

Just a bit tired of reading the constant, and prolonged over the period of this thread, criticism of an honest hard working pro, a great servant of the club, who has managed to rise from lower league football to hold down a regular place in PL football. He must be doing something right to have the confidence of the vast array of managers we have had, including the oh so flawed FDB who tried to fit him in to his grandiose scheme.
Moreover, despite being unappreciated by both a section of the fans, and it would appear the powers that be, if his contract talks are indicative, he has not let it affect his performances. And who could blame him if it did? You never know what you missed till it is gone.
Finally, I think that you need to think carefully, as you continue to be judgemental as in your uncalled for comments about me. I speak not with hindsight, but with the experience of 46 years supporting the Palace, and witnessing many players thus villified who proved their critics wrong.
My posts were to point out the absurdity of people like you who know that RH has done a fantastic job as manager(I do not see any posts to the contrary) yet question his selections. It was to elicit an apology, and we got a grudging one from you.

PS.re; that said that ward hadn’t been good , which he hadn’t ,is only your opinion, wrong in this case, which was not shared by someone more knowledgeable than you.

A decent post mate. But it wasn’t what you was saying that I had a problem with, it was that you decided to reply to each post that had criticised ward , you going to do the same to the negative Benteke posts now that he has knocked one on from 12 yards?

26000 people saw that ward was too slow for Brighton’s second goal. Hodgson has been blinding This year, but I doubt everyone has agreed with every decision. I’d play RLC through the middle every time , Wan Bissaka over Ward and get the wingers to switch wings during games.

The fact you’ve been watching Palace 46 years doesn’t give you any more respect though, there’s people in all walks of life that know f*ck all after years of experience.
Agree with what you say about him being a hard working pro though. Can’t doubt wards effort.

How would you accommodate Loftus-Cheek through the middle? Cabaye and Luka were top notch today, as was Reuben. But interested to know how you’d fit them all in.

Vive le Roy!

Well done Joel especially for that clearance, which was as good as a goal.

He hadn’t been the best. But anyone who knows a bit about the player will tell you that was just down to him being rusty. A run of games in and he starts performing like he did today. Like we know he can perform. There’s no point digging him out. If he isn’t playing then he isn’t going to be performing. And if he isn’t performing, then he isn't Going to play. He’s a very realisable professional and we’ve been exceptionally lucky to find and sign him as his ascent as a player has conincided with ours as a club.
