Any dictator could have done that.

Instead of doing the usual on this thread, it would have been better if you had come with something like record low umemployment.

Or are you just saying that the best thing the govenment has done is just to point the finger at an opposition that hasn't been in power for coming up to a decade.

What do you genuinely think this govenment has done that is good? I would have thought that would have been easy for you as a strong supporter...

Well, it is pointless to state the obvious on a thread designed for only one purpose. I'd rather respond in the spirit of the intention of the thread, which is party political.
The problem is with the question. It is mischevious.
This government has done what it deems necessary and however bad some people think that is, it won't be as bad as electing Labour. What good things have the done is a relative question and one that depends on the perspective of the observer. it is also designed to suggest that they have done nothing good.

It's a shame that discussion theads are just turned into notice boards to campaign for a political party, which is what is now happening on a daily basis.

Fair enough, it's not hard to see that the poster has a very left wing agenda but there was an opportunity to actually post what the govenment has done that is good.

I have said before I'm no tory but, I like to think that when a govenment does something good, no matter what flavour, I would credit them for it and low unemployment is not a small thing, even though living standards are at an all time low.

Whatever the spirit of the thread, I would like to hear the positives. I could write a whole essay on all the cr@p that has gone on over the last 8 years but in fairness, I could have done that about the previuos regime also.

I genuinely want to know what people think the government have done well.

Lowest unemployment for ages and second highest GDP in Europe. I don't quite understand how productivity is seemingly poor when GDP is second only to Germany.

Not be Corbyn's Labour.

Even though May's Tories are rather pathetically SJW impressionists now.

Ok, so far we have had low unemployment, second highest GDP and made immigrants think twice. So far, that's not a lot. There must be more than that.

We have some hardcore Tory supporters on the HOL. Here's your chance to really make a case other than just saying, Labour are bad.

Personal allowance raised massively. The poor got better off under Cameron, see graph.

Settling the issue of Scottish independence.

Stamp duty cut for less expensive housing. Stamp duty abolished for first time buyers.

Unemployment down, with 3/4 new jobs being full time.

Deficit down (not enough).

Consistently stronger growth than the rEU. Newsflash for anyone saying "it's weaker now"... uh, yeah. Because we're starting from a much higher point.

We are finally leaving the European Union.

Rich pay more in tax now than they ever did under Labour's last government. [Link]

Proper re-regulation of the banks, done in a manner that hasn't just killed them off.

Gay marriage.

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

British democracy in a nut shell. Don't like the other guy, vote for this guy (or gal in this case). Who gives a damn about policies or direction, or reality of what we're saying, just don't vote for that guy....

Sums up a lot of the problems in the UK, no one really cares about being right, only about winning.

Good points. I'd like to see some improvement in some of these areas (like not just getting 3/4 of jobs full time, but getting wages higher, but I think credit where credit is due. I'd like to see the state and media focus more on corporate tax evasion, than chasing individuals.

I'm still torn on the EU, I want to leave, but I'm not sure that its going to 'turn out well'.

Don't bottle it now.
There are lots of people who want us to believe that things will be a disaster for their own interests.
