Amex is in the middle of nowhere, so easy to put checkpoints on the paths in and only let fans with tickets through. Selhurst is in the middle of housing so anyone could walk up, even walking their dog, but no one can drive up as the roads are closed off, which is what they could have done at Brighton.
Not defending anyone, just don't understand why it was handled so poorly? Why did the Police make the group arrive late? Anyone who's been in danger of missing kick off knows how frustrating it is, so if anyone made a bolt for an open door I can understand why.

Handled poorly?
Did anyone die? No.
Did anyone get hurt....?

Who exactly handled it poorly?

The fans mate, a handful fcuked up. If you can't admit that, your either deluded or one of those robbing c nuts.

People got in without tickets, for free. There is no positive excuse for that, so please don't try and pull one out your arse. It will only smell like.....
Sh!t.

Good to know what your barometers of success are.

Also, if you'd have read the thread, you'll have realised that no one has condoned the actions of the bellends who did, in your words, f*** up.

But yes, it was a successful police and steward intervention, because "no one died".

(Yeah... let's just ignore the 'did anyone get hurt' part)

There is a model for accident prevention and risk analysis [Link] called the swiss cheese model. Essentially any accident is not caused by one event but by multiple failures and potential weakness in design.
Ultimately the supporters charging the door caused the problem, if they hadn't the policing would still be have been poor but would not have had the negative consquences.
I would hope the police, stadium managemnt and anyone else involved would be using something similar to this to understand how what happened happened and how to avoid it happening in future. Unfortunately football will attract idiots, the police need to ask how well the procedures they put in place to stop trouble worked and chnage what they need to and justify what they keep.

A load more flares went off at the Amex away end this Saturday, maybe Simon Nelson would like to blame the Palace for leaving them under the seats for the Scousers.

Two stewards hospitalised, our own fans getting punched and kettled by the Old Bill, missiles thrown by both fans, flares burning people's legs... Yep, complete success.

How do we know that the people that got in "without tickets" didnt have tickets ?

They rushed through open gate/door/turnstile whatever it was because the game had started..doesnt men that they didnt have tickets.

I served 5 years in the Legion (2 REI)

Not to sure why you are going on about The Legion Entranger? & what relevance this has to a bunch of lads who support our club?

It's like saying how would Millwall thugs do in the SAS?

If you really would like to have a serious chat with the HF, then go down the boozer where they all drink & have chat with them.

UP THE HF!!!
