He is contracted to Chelsea so they hold the cards here.

I can’t see them wanting to sell him and I can’t see him asking for a transfer and losing his wad. So a loan is the most likely outcome.

Exhibit Z of the problems within the premier league and English football. Something that’s never been allowed to happen in Germany since the 2001 1-5 thrashing we gave them.

Even stranger are the England tattooed Chelsea ‘fans’ caring about Chelsea way before England to the point England go backwards.

Our comedy and music etc may be far better than Euro countries to a level that makes us laugh hysterically at their’s but when it comes to running something to our benefit? Hmmm, only a minority.

At least don't think his market value increased after first half (5-0) vs hopeless Panama. Yellow card and one positive contribution so far....

Having got international recognition he will want the guarantee of first team football. Chelsea with all their other players will find that hard. If he does not get these assurances he will push for a move. He may be offered a loan move but I think he will push for a permanent move unless this has a right to purchase clause.

So Chelsea have a real problem and because of the shortened transfer window a new manager may not have any real time to make a decision.

I think the best thing for RLC is to move on. He needs to go to a club where he will always be on team sheet and he is not yet the finished article so a top 4 club in my view is not the answer.

Chelsea have 4 options
1) Give him first team football
2) Loan him out
3) Sell and take profit now
4) Sell with a hefty sell on clause or buy back clause.

I think they will do the fourth as this gives best potential for profit long term

Why not possibly 1 then 2 in Jan based on whether they have a new manager for this season and how well RLC performs for Chelski , which might well happen after the World Cup when they can also assess how RLC does there and put in a new manager.

It was a great World Cup.

and that Platt goal should have stood

I don’t see him in the Chelsea team at all.

Best for him. He needs to play and he won’t play much in a top 4-5 team because he hasn’t really really proved he’s at that level yet. Maybe not playing centrally for us has delayed that proof a little but he didn’t perform for most of the season until the last 2 months with a bit of injury delay added in. I rated him from the Huddersfield debacle.

It’s sad that English players don’t get the chances but I’m not convinced he’s quite at the level YET to be making a place for himself regularly in a top 4-5 side to keep his development going.

I can't see from a development point of view why he wouldn't be better off here than West Ham or Everton
given last year's experience. Of course, there may be a difference in the loan fee offered by club or he might be yearning to live in Liverpool.
It would definitely help to get this sorted with regard to other transfers as he would be an integral part of starting line up
I think the relative success with him and TFM holds us in good stead with top clubs - where the pickings are likely to continue to be a great option for loans

I'd agree with that, he still looks a bit raw to me.

It's just a case of playing more games. You can tell when you watch him and Dele Alli which one has been playing regular first team football for the last five years.

If he goes out on loan again, although I would like to see him back with us, there is a good case from his point of view and that of Chelsea that he works under a different manager with a different style to ours. This will broaden his experiences and make him a better player in the long run.
Let us hope however he chooses us.

Don't think he's been really taking advantage of his position in the team. He's strong and wins free kicks but had hoped he'd go past people more and his passing has been a little poor on occasions. My colleagues at work haven't been entirely impressed. On a positive note this will mean his fee will not be as much as we'd expected, if we get the chance to buy him.
