So if the vast majority of immigrants are not Muslim, then we can infer from your statement that increases in the Muslim population in the UK would be caused mainly by a much higher birthrate among Muslims than both the general UK population and other immigrants to the UK?

That doesn't make sense or have any relation to reality but, if we say for a moment that it's true, it would take many decades of higher birthrate among Muslim families than the rest of the general population for any significant percentage increase in the Muslim population; I'm sure you can see that?

?

The Muslim population as a percentage of the British population has been doubling for the past two decades.

Across England and Wales the Muslim population is 5.4% of the total population. Britain generally 4.4 percent. London is approximately one eighth Muslim.

These are facts as of the recent dates they were collected (2014).

The larger the population as a percent the larger the current problems....We need a westernized reformed Islam here led by reformers that has no hiding places for its socially conservative forms.

It isn't ideal for freedom but this case is an exception for me.

I've just read the sentencing transcript of the case. What is a "SOPO?" I didn't see the full title in the transcript.

I try not to comment on the politics of another country as what we have going on here is plenty to involve me. I do know that the crimes described happen here all to frequently. They are perpetrated by disgusting individuals. Their backgrounds are as varied as this country's, some are immigrants but many are home grown.

No.
The birth rate among immigrants and their offspring is higher, so the birth rate among Muslims is higher.
That means Muslims as a percentage will increase relative to non immigrants.

What's the difference between a fatwa, jihad and antifada?

There's no punchline, it's just a bit like the Eskimos having 50 words for snow.

BTW the 'increase in rape' was due to changes in the law and reporting of the offences, in case someone hasn't pointed that out already.

I don't have time to post on here very often, but you are clearly mistaken on this.

Yes, there is a higher birthrate among the Muslim population than in the general population; 3.1 per female as opposed to 1.9 per female in the general population.

But unlike Hrolf posted previously, the factors in increases in population are not only immigration and by people being born; the factor which is accounting for the main increase is people living longer!

The post-war baby boomers are now aged between late 40s and mid 70s. These people are living longer than previous generations, mostly quite a bit longer. When prototype state pensions were introduced in 1902, the pension age for men was set at age 65, though male life expectancy was 59! Subsequent generations have seen life expectancy increase gradually, and it now stands at almost age 84.

The tens of millions who fall into baby boomer population bubble having a greater life expectancy will account for the greatest increase in the UK population over the next 40 years or so, and almost without exception these people are non-Muslim.

Although the percentage of children in the UK being born Muslim will increase gradually, the actual numbers are relatively small, a few thousand more each year. This is a miniscule number compared to the numbers of baby boomers, so as a percentage of the population overall the percentage of Muslims will, if anything, fall as the population ages. That could possibly change after about 2055 or so,when the last of the baby boomer generations die out, but a lot could change by then!

The only caveat to this would be if the UK introduced mass immigration from Muslim nations and prevented anyone else coming here, but I can't imagine a circumstance where that might happen.

That is simply not true.

The primary reason why we began to encourage immigration in the 50's was that the workforce was diminishing. The trend was a reduction in young people caused by a declining birth rate which would within a few decades meant an actual drop in the population.
Immigrants have altered that trend by having more children on average than the existing population.

Face the facts.

A fatwa is a religious decree of action issued by a high ranking cleric.

Jyhad is a personal undertaking or struggle, in the name of Islam

Infitada, is an uprising (typically stemming from grass root levels rather than ordered by state or by religious leaders)

But the numbers aren't particularly large, they're unlikely to double in the next decade to 10%

Also in immigration, we need great distribution of immigrants across the UK, not isolated 'ghettoisation' if we want to facilitate better integration.

Look around the world, look at history, people of different race, religion and culture tend not to integrate and they choose to congregate together.

We have had all this in the past.

Look at Scotland as a football example. They now have Celtic and Hibernian FC who play at Easter Road. Once introduced, the divisions never go away.

We are shooting ourselves in the foot...again.
