New Stadium Name

When the new look Stadium is built and finished, will it still be called "Selhurst Park" or will there be a renaming of it? I really hope we stay different from the other clubs who end up naming it after a sports sponsor or something. It doesn't ever sound like your own clubs stadium when it has one of them silly names after a company. If we was to change the name from Selhurst Park to something else then the best name in my opinion would be The Nest as we are the eagles...

If we still in the prem then I'd like it to be called: 'Who the fvck is laughing now stadium.' 'And now we go over to Iain Dowie at the Who the fvck is laughing now stadium where Charlton are now 7-0 down to Palace in the 3rd round of the FA Cup. Is there any way back for Charlton, Iain?'

The " stand behind the goal still to be developed by courtesy of Sainsbury's" Stadium. Alternatively: Sainsbury Selhurst Shopping Bowl. Seriously though: what's wrong with Selhurst Park, or even just Selhurst. the Nest sounds like something the American owners could come up with, no thanks! Originally posted by Palace Passion

Selhurst Park! If they absolutely positively insist on a brand change, I would grudgingly accept The Crystal Palace. I would be v unhappy with a betting website or the like.

When I think of name changes for grounds, they are all grounds away from the original site, whereas we are staying at 'Selhurst Park' IE : Arsenal,Southampton,Man C, Brighton, Derby, Huddersfield, Hull, Leicester, Middlesbrough, Sunderland, Swansea, Oxford Utd, Reading, Rotherham, scunthorpe, Shrewsbury etc etc. But at the end of the day money talks !

Would imagine the only reason the name would change is if we sell the naming rights as advertising. And if that happens, well it won't be anything Palace related it'll be a brand name of some description. Would imagine it's more likely than not that naming rights will be sold at some point. It's a revenue stream that our competitors use and therefore one we will likely try to use.

[/quote The Nest was the last site for CPFC before Selhurst Park, it's now the railway sidings opposite the entrance of Selhurst station.
