He's working on a shutdown of the Federal government too, having already explained to the press how he will blame it on Democrats (who have pretty much zero power in Washington currently).

Distract, distract, distract. It's why war with North Korea is almost inevitable, with the first shots being fired at the same time that Bob Mueller is fired.

There was at least a fig leaf of neutrality, with the option of using the US's financial support of Israel as a lever. Now, any shred of impartiality is gone and will never be recovered.

Jerusalem is a nightmare, being ground zero for three religions, all believing in the same God but with differing opinions on who Jesus was.

Fully agree and now the U.S. has lost whatever diplomatic leverage it had in the region. Add to that, Kushner is our lead negotiator? How are they trying to kid?

Trump routinely makes decisions that will likely escalate conflict. He does it at home and away, as way of distracting from his own ever worsening myriad of problems. Regardless of your view on this issue, know that he isn't doing it for the benefit of anyone.

As it turns out, among the gahzillion items that Jared failed to declare on his security application, was the fact that he is an investor in an Israeli company that builds homes in the occupied territories.

No conflict of interest there, though...right?

I vacillate constantly between thinking he's a Machiavellian genius, an incorrigible s***-stirrer and a complete f***wit.

In the end, I suspect that we'll discover it's a bit of all three.

Aren't a lot of the evangelical Christians in America very pro-Israel as they believe that God gave Israel to the Jewish people? Perhaps Trump is pandering to them a bit as well. I am so glad I am a pagan.

I thought Trump was "literally Hitler"! I don't think the Fuhrer would have done this somehow.

The fact that a lot of them weren't joking shows just how hyperbolically stupid they were and still are.

I think evangelical Christians are pro-the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, because they think it's part of the end times that will bring about the rapture.

Basically, they're all wishing for the end of the world because they will get taken up into the bosom of God while the rest of us burn in hell. Which is nice.

That's as dim as saying all Sunni Muslims support Islamic state running a caliphate.

Or an opinion informed by actually living here - for 25 years - in Texas: the buckle of the bible belt.

Also, smart people have studied this and concluded that you need to get out more or pontificate less. [Link]

Probably about 40 percent sounds about right.

Problem is you said, 'I think evangelical Christians are pro-the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, because they think it's part of the end times that will bring about the rapture.'.

The reality is that it is less than half.

You should have said, a 'significant minority' of evangelical Christians'.

Just giving you back some of that 'progressive' BS you sign up for......but only for the groups you like of course.
