I think we should boycott the game if 2k is the allocation. It will hugely detract from any victory they get and the cup this year is not a priority. At least as long as we are so relegation haunted.

Plus, it will be a great opportunity to really highlight the multiple failings of East Sussex police and BHA for the league match. There are so many Palace in the media...all they need is a super strong news hook like this and the sports desk editors will lap it up.

Michaela & others have set out superb anecdotes. Those well framed in the national press would make great copy!!!!

Boycott if it's 2k.

There's no 'if', but I can't see what a boycott would achieve.

It would be playing straight into the authorities hands.

Best thing to do is go down their and get a win.

Maybe it would highlight the treatment of fans and being demonised by the Sussex Police lies, “the worst violence they have ever witnessed” “gangs of supporters armed with knives and knuckle dusters roaming the streets of Brighton and at the ground looking for trouble” etc etc.

Palace fans were treated like scum, Locked out of the ground, forced onto trains regardless of whether you drove or had a hotel.

Why part with hard earned to be treated like this by BHA and the FA?

After we beat them 3-1 in our first ever game there I vowed never to go back as we were treated like total s*** by Sussex police.
I'll be watching this one from the comfort of my armchair.

Lots of issues here ...

Social media and the press stirring up malevolent nonsense e.g. the false police statements about weapons being found at the last match. Such negative contribution just adds to local hostility and hardly makes attending the game a pleasant experience.

Our first team do not need a Cup run when they need to concentrate on winning league games to keep us up.

Timing ... who in their right mind wants to travel down to the middle of nowhere to watch a game on a Monday night in the middle of winter?

It's Brighton ... does anyone REALLY care about this so called "rivalry". I've supported Palace for 50 years and really couldn't give a toss about Brighton nor whether Alan Mullery and Terry Venables didn't get on!

Leave well alone.

Yet the majority of our support travelled to the ground and got in with no problems at all; one from the HOL arrived a few minutes before kick off and had no issues whatsoever. It wasn't the police, BHAFC or the FA who entered the ground by force, or forced their own supporters out of their seats and threw fireworks around was it?

It would seem that, if you arrive at Brighton and clearly identify yourself as an away supporter and/or drink in the pubs around the station, you are more than likely (rightly or wrongly) to be taken on a long walk to the ground by Sussex finest. If you behave as a member of Joe Public and/or travel via Falmer it appears less likely you will suffer those problems.

I do not in any way condone the lies told by the Sussex Police and it was clear that the security could have been handled better by both them and BHAFC. Neither do I see the need to reduce our allocation of tickets for these matches.

However, attending football matches dressed in black, wearing hoodies and with scarves over your faces, emulating at least the appearance of extremist European football groups, has connotations that inevitably tar the rest of the support with a similar brush and the behaviour of at least a small number of those, both inside and outside the ground, served to confirm those beliefs with the authorities.

There were a significant number of completely blameless supporters who lost out on seeing the last game and there were very definitely lessons to be learned by the authorities, but let's not pretend that some of our support were entirely innocent in what happened that night and how we're now being treated for the cup game.

Never ever gonna happen. Whether we have 2,000 or 10,000 this will always sell out.

And if it didn't, zero fans at an away game in the cup against or biggest rivals? We'll be a laughing stock to every team in the football league.

Personally, I'll go purely to support the players, everything that has happened in the last few weeks has been out of their control.

I couldn't have put it better.

If you want to have it off with Brighton then keep quiet, mingle in with them, wait for them to start singing in the station concourse and bang. They wouldn't know what hit em, but that'll never happen cos it requires nerve and bottle.

May as well carry on quietly and take your chance if it arises than this embarrassing posturing shyte. It's what away fans of lots of clubs do. Let the gobby ones on the other side embarrass themselves behind the safety police cordon.
