Tekkers has got to play and prove he really cares (and I think he would play well).

The last thing we need is the crowd getting on his back.

We've currently only got one fit striker, we need to support him.

How much money do they reckon each point in the Prem is worth? Millions? And we are the mugs who farcically chuck two away when they are put on a plate for us, cut into small pieces with gravy already applied. In the pantheon of things you couldn’t make up at this club over the years, this takes not the biscuit but the whole box of ‘Tea Time Assorted’.

Redemption would start with an admission of guilt.

Stop it youre making me feel .....hungry ?

Reading a post on the match report in a National newspaper, someone had actually researched all of Benteke's 'unfortunate' misses in recent times

....... came up with the theory that it could all be either betting or gambling related..........

I make no comment here - just reporting what I read!

Makes you wonder - especially with such a pathetic attempt!

Punish - Massive monies to charidee, and a public apology to fans

Rehabilitate - give chance to prove his worth in the team under strict discipline guidelines, on the pitch and in training.

Probation period - If he fcks up again, he can fck off - Breach of Contract, or some such stuff

As another post has stated I can't see him being in the match-day squad on Tuesday. It wouldn't even surprise me if he never wore the shirt for us again. It isn't just the fans he has upset with his actions, the rest of the team must be pretty angry with him as well.

I think you'll be in for a pretty big shock if this is genuinely what you believe will happen. He was involved in both of the goals yesterday, Roy praised his hold up play. He will play again for Palace.

Whether or not he starts is another issue, who knows. I for one hope he doesn't simply because I think Wilf and Andros suit our home system down to the ground, and he can be brought on if we find it difficult to break them down, but the hysteria surrounding this is so typically Palace-esque over the top, you'd of thought he punched someone's Mum.

I will never understand abuse actually directed towards players, especially in the s***ty situations we so often find ourselves in. We're all angry and by all means hate Benteke, never forgive him if it genuinely makes you feel better about your life. But directing abuse at him on social media, bombarding his old posts with messages about how much we all hate him and how terrible he is is quite frankly f***ing pathetic.

I anticipate him getting a poor reception, be it on the bench or pitch on Tuesday. And I'd just ask Palace fans, what good exactly do you think is gonna come from that?

We're the Arthur over ere!

Exactly. He's made a massive mistake but we really need him to get over it quickly and get his mojo back. He's all we've got right now. If the crowd turn on him (remember Shefti Kuqi or Ben Watsons penalty?) and he says ok f*** you lot and goes into a strop and really does stop trying ... where does that leave us.... struggling through some winnable xmas fixtures with no striker again.
I know he's not the most talkative footballer but would be nice if he came out and made some kind of apology and reassured us that he's still up for the fight / working hard etc.

Can Benteke redeem himself?

No, he can't. It's not about him missing a penalty, it's that he's not good enough for the PL. He's gone 800 minutes without goal or assist. That's unbelievable for a striker.

He's only made double figure last year because he played more minutes than any other striker in the PL. He's been average at Aston Villa too, just taking all penalties and being forced into the first 11 to be sold. People thought he will become great, as in truth, he was very, very young, but he never did.

No matter if he scores 2 o 3 or 4 goals until January, he's just not good enough, nothing is going to change that.

Tekkers is best known for his heading ability.

So next time he takes a penalty, he could try something unorthodox.

No, should be dropped to the reserves and sold for whatever we can get for him in January. You never put yourself before the team.

Ridiculous idea. Your forgetting Benteke had a decent game yesterday until he missed the penalty. I'm as disappointed as everyone else is but we need to support him Tuesday.

No of course he's not you idiot !! How many goals did Benteke score last season?

Take a look at Lukaku. How many goals has he scored for United recently? I suppose he's not good enough for the Prem either...?
