BBC policy on hiring is to hire based on race for certain positions, which is wrong IMO

That's not what I asked for!

I want to see the actual policy and not some hack from the Express's interpretation of one incident, spun to wind up it's gullible readership.

The Express, or the Mail, on such matters, are about as reliable as a chocolate teapot.

When I have time, I will try to find it myself, but I expect it to be very different and nuanced than you are being led to believe.

Which is why it gets moved from the news to longer, investigative reporting, although I doubt the government would accept your "lack of meaningful action"! More like a lack of resources and co-operation to cover a huge area.

Unless you know the history of every ancestor of yours, and the history of every relative of theirs for the last 2000 years, that is simply an impossible claim to make. It quite quickly includes everyone who has ever lived during that time. You do realise that it has been calculated that within 6 connections we all know everyone in the world? Apply the same logic to your family history, and you will understand why. Nothing at all obtuse involved. It's just factual.

"White" people have never, and still don't, have any reason to worry about their colour. You won't change, and you have no right to decide how your successors will feel.

No-one encourages anyone to feel guilty about their forbears. What a ridiculous idea. They lived at a different time, when other standards and expectations applied and need to be judged by them, and not by ours. All that is expected is that we learn and improve. Some of us can and do. Others don't, and it's them who feel the guilt.

I live in Cornwall, where we have a much more diverse population than you might realise from the bare figures, which are out of date anyway. We also see a huge influx of visitors throughout the year, peaking now, who arrive from all over the UK and the world.

Not that it matters. The Cornish are very used to hosting visitors and are genuinely friendly people. You don't witness any racial tensions here. I might have retired here, but I have lived elsewhere in the UK, and in other parts of the world, so am perfectly able to form an opinion.

Deluded? Not a jot. Old? Regrettably a little, but still lively and fighting. Hypocrisy? You beat me hands down on that. It's the only attribute on which I concede defeat.
