I know people with parents from different countries and none of them call themselves English, or they’ll say they’re half whatever and half English. It’s only trouble makers trying to stoke up rubbish who claim that people who aren’t English by origin should claim they are when loads of people who aren’t don’t. What’s interesting about Lammy is he has conservative close relatives. I wonder how much they laugh either at him or behind his back.

Instead it's always trying to find racism in everything. He'd literally find anything to complain about. His next campaign will be to ban tippex. I must say though, that he's such a parody of himself that no one can really take him seriously. He has cried wolf a few times too many and is now basically a comedy act.

What’s wrong with being proud of your family roots as well as the place you were born and grew up?

There are politicians across the board that have said some seriously stupid stuff - our PM has said a lot more stupid b*llocks than both put together - yet it’s these two that seem to get brought up again and again. Can’t quite put my finger on it.
