Many on here seem to think that we are too good to go down, that our squad is better than others, that we'll get out of the relegation scrap in the end.

Without rose-tinted glasses on, can you tell me who in our squad is good enough for a top 10 side?

Let's look at our starting 11 today:

Speroni - Decent at shot shopping, pretty crap at kicking, very small, no command of his penalty area. Should be retired.

Fosu-Mensah - On loan, not convincing.
Tomkins - West Ham reject.
Dann - Shadow of his former self.
Schlupp - Leicester reject.

Milivojevic - Decent enough.
Cabaye - One game in five player. Past it.
Loftus-Cheek - On loan. Never made an impact in any of his loan spells. Anonymous in most games.
Townsend - Look at his stats. Creates very little and doesn't score.
Zaha - Legend. Our only outlet. But so frustrating. Gives the ball away, dives, gives away needless free-kicks. Needs to grow up. He is still a good player.
Benteke - Biggest waste of money in the club's history. But he gets absolutely no service.

The other problem is our f***ing stupid formation and insistence on playing inverted winners. If you play with inverted wingers you need your full backs to overlap. Ours never, ever, ever overlap, so we have no width, the middle of the pitch is congested and we always lose the ball. We never cross the ball, despite buying Benteke who can literally only score with his head.

We aren't good enough and we're going down.

I agree we are not very good but Loftus-Cheek has never been loaned out before. This is the first time

Honestly? Our only hope is a new manager and the January window.

Sell Benteke for £30m if we're lucky, there are many players who could do the job he is doing at the moment (focal point who doesn't score any goals anmd cant hold the ball up). Ulloa is one example who we could get for £10m.

Money goes on a couple traditional wingers that can cross the ball. Similar in ilk to Marc Albrighton of Leicester. I'm sure there's plenty of players in the Championship or in the foreign leagues who know how to cross a ball.

Play 4-5-1 with 2 wingers and a no. 10.

I've tried really hard to be positive this season but I really can't see three teams in this division that are worse than us. I can't help thinking that our failure to sign a striker during the last transfer window and the disastrous appointment of Frank de Boer will ultimately result in us ending up in the Championship.

Just too many over-rated (by us before buying) expensive players in the squad and a lack of direction and gelling.

In short we have all the attributes of a relegation side.

It's been coming tbf. Too many mistakes off the field over the years and not enough guile on it.
