A few years ago I worked in a factory just outside Cardiff and the two things that the work force all had in common was a hatred of the English and support for Liverpool Football Club.

I don't suppose that the hypocrisy ever crossed their minds

all thick as sheep s***

Probably to do with John Toshack and Craig Bellamy.

Both Cardiff born and played for both clubs.

Take it from me.

The disliking of the English is generally tongue in cheek. It is not comparable to the sheer hatred of England by the Scottish; that is truly astonishing.

When Scotland play I believe it is fair to state that we have a general 'hope they do well, they are our neighbours...'

When England play they purchase the opposition shirts, flaunt them and song with passion vulgar anti-English songs.

I had heard that Alex Ferguson said that when England won the World Cup it was one of the worst days of his life.

In terms of the Welsh I heard that way back in the 70s when Wales were playing rugby at the 'Arms Park' the Welsh crowd booed when 'God save the Queen' was played before the game.Nowadays I believe they play 'Land of our fathers'.

Not sure there is really anyone I'd sign as a national coach from the English managers. Its a bit of a stupid thing to say, because lets face it, the options for a Welsh national manager are poorer than England.
