Many on HOL were vehemently against suggestions of Roy being appointed manager in the close season. With hindsight..........

Previously we have had managers who picked players irrespective of form or ability. We now have a manager who picks players based on training regimen. No real surprise that the disappearance of Punch and Hennessey has seen our resurgence.

De Boer was a disaster of an appointment. Most of the other problems came from there including transfer business.

For some reason people only seem to remember Roy for his time with England and Liverpool (where I actually thought he was harshly treated) Fact is, for many years he's been a very competent and respected manager/coach across Europe. I've just had a read of the Leicester city forum. To be fair to them they on the whole rated us and agreed that we were by far the better team and deserved the win. Some of them though still had a problem with losing to a Roy Hodgson team. This I don't get. I was expecting earlier from them. All they did Walloon for the ball over the top forvardys pace and that was never going to work. In other trust.
Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!! |

However he can't be wholly blamed for the managements failure to get a lb that summer; or blamed at all for papas car crash that made the difference. The "pardew effect" is a non existent fiction.

Aside from the De Boer issues, having a fit Wilfred Zaha has made a huge difference. His performances and commitment levels have been out of this world this season.
