whoever is at the time available at the time fits with the DNA of the pattern of play that Palace have.

Why would I listen to Willo's "contacts" when I have a perfectly good cat of my own?

I have to say, I would love Danny Murphy to take a position learning the ropes under Roy. He is the only pundit on motd who consistently talks sense. On talksport he often talks about the time he spent playing under Roy and how much he admired his methods. He obviously likes Palace as a club and is always quick to point out how wonderful our fans are. I think he could start of part time so that he could still fulfil his media ambitions, just gradually getting to understand the everyday workings of a football club, then start to ramp up his workload as Roy gets closer to retirement. I have been thinking about this for a while now and am glad that somebody started a thread that is worthy of discussion, well done foxy.

has resisted writing a single post on the Ross McCormack thread !!!

This is where clubs can get it wrong and Parish went wrong with Frank actually and I think we've used all the quality managers out of work. More than likely there'll only be rubbish out of work and available.

Actually Moyes might be available when the time comes but I can't stand him and I reckon the players would dislike him as they did with Frank.

If Roy's finish is planned and done properly then it shouldn't be whichever group have the shortest odds on oddschecker. That's the point of this.

Regards Danny Murphy, I have heard he is a real student of the game and a while ago Martin Tyler said he believed he would be a manager in the future.

I agree that succession planning is key in developing any business. My problem is concerning the decision making of our current Chaiman in his past choices. Frank was a disaster and could still be a costly choice. Roy has been inspirational for us. Let us hope that when the time comes our Chairman makes a Roy type choice rather than a Frank type choice.
