It isn't racist. It's racist to treat people differently due to the colour of their skins. I remember Lenny Henry doing white face for a movie. I wasn't offended by that.....any comments relating to slavery are just so out of date as to be risible. It's just that old 'protected class' BS from virtue signalers. However, it is arguable that the origins of ‘blackface’, from minstrels and performers, was racist in intent and mocked black people. You probably don’t mind, like me, people doing ‘whiteface’ but neither you or I has been subjected to the overt racism and prejudice black people have during history and the cultural significance of people mocking them about their colour. I just think in a civilised society, if a group objects to something happening and there is good reason for that objection, then others should respect their wishes.

So if you want to wear fancy dress and be a black person you can't if it involves painting your face black.. How else was he ssupposed to look like diane Abbott?? Wasn't just a random black person it was an identifiable character which wouldn't have worked if his face was white would it . I also don't get offended by people in nazi costume as fancy dress events. It's a part of history

In this kind of situation you have to apply the passback rule, yes there was a time where you could do it and you might consider the days that you could 'the good old days'. But like it or not it is not acceptable now, not anywhere so be pissed off about it but do not be pissed off when you go in the book for it because you know full well the world has agreed that you cant do it and its not like you havnt been given a lot of notice on the matter... We have all agreed it is wrong so dont be arrogent and assume its fine for you to do it just because you think there is nothing wrong with it is what im trying to say...

What many find objectionable is the constant 'PC Creep' of the cacophanous PC Brigade who forever are extending the parameters of what they deem "Racist" much of which is deemed totally ridiculous. It is fast reaching the stage that in time we will have a dictum on high from the PC Brigade to say we cannot say that we have an aversion to "Irish stew" or "French fries". I have friends of all hues, I don't judge people by their colour, just their character, and some of my black friends agree with my sentiments.
