The lead in to the story on Radio 5 Live this morning was basically .. a premier league player was arrested last night in South London .. My immediate thought was it's going to be a Palace player. Sadly I wasn't wrong. I agree we shouldn't be making too many judgements on Punch at this stage. There are plenty of sad jumped-up- johnnies out there who want to impress their mates by having a go at someone famous (or relatively famous in JPs case). It's the weapon bit that doesn't sound too good though.

Got to remember innocent until proven guilty but the charges are worrying. Being alleged to have hurt someone and have a weapon on you that is capable of hurting someone. If that is the case he is stupid to have put himself in that position

Apparently the residents of Reigate are to be offered counselling for shock as nobody has been arrested in Reigate since 1964 when Mrs Baker, the head of the local WI had her prize marrows stolen from her allotment....
