I like Benteke , he works hard not only as a forward but also in defence , if you notice how many times he was heading the ball out of our area . It is not his fault that we seem not to get the ball to our forwards it is the set up . If we had the best strikers in the world playing for us at present we still would not score

I don’t generally agree with loans without an option to buy, but the Michy loan was a huge eye opener. He is the type of forward we need, yet we don’t have a single player like that except James Daly in the youth setup. We do not, will not, never happen and never ever EVER will play to the strengths of the bentekes and Wickhams of the world with this manager. It is literally as simple as that.

We could have had Ronaldo up top today and it would not have made the slightest difference. If we can't complete 2 passes in midfield or cross the ball into the box we may as well just play an extra center back and just accept we're not going to score.

Our freekicks and corners would have been dangerous. We had a few free kicks in the game - they were all dealt with easily. My biggest criticism of Roy is that why don't we work on the basics of corners and free kicks? They used to be a strength a couple of seasons ago, now they are simply poor. We don't seem to score from open play and have a tall side. Seems an obvious thing to do.

I genuinely would rather play a striker from our youth set up than play Benteke... He is so bad it’s actually ridiculous..
Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!! |

I agree, start the lad with the French name who scored a brace against the Don's in pre- season. At least he seems to know where the net is. If we give him a chance we have nothing to lose and everything to gain. He can't be worse than our current 'strikers'.

Half of the freekicks didn't clear the first man on the edge of the area and in the first half when we actually had possession in the sheff half we failed on nearly every occasion to put any sort of ball into the box. Only in the last 5 minutes did we even decide to attempt to lump it into the box which although was awful it at least created some panic at the back for United unlike our previous 90mins.
