I think that it's more to do with the fact that we can sell him at the end of the season rather than letting him walk for nothing

It's the cheap option again, new striker £30m+ new contract £12m. Face facts we ain't buying again coz we're skint.

Get him cleaning boots and putting out the kit for the rest of his contract

if he's resigned for next season we wont be renewing our season tickets, seems money is the only thing that matters to the powers that be; so they can do without ours. Absolutely beyond my comprehension he could even be considered for a starting place let alone a new contract after the Bournemouth fiasco & his performances.
