Benteke did get 15 last season, he's just lacking confidence.

15 goals, 2 of which were converted penalties anyone could have converted.
That leaves 13 goals in a really long playing time (like 3 thousand minutes, cause he was always a starter).
None of the 13 goals was great, mostly easy tap-inns and some headers.

How is that "quality proven"?

Christ. If it was that easy, why hasn't anyone else got even close to his total for us since we got promoted?

16/17 - Christian Benteke - 15

15/16 - Yohan Cabaye, Scott Dann, Yannick Bolasie, Connor Wickham - 5

14/15 - Glenn Murray - 7

13/14 - Jason Puncheon, Dwight Gayle - 7

Employee of the month is a good example of how someone can be both a winner and a loser at the same time.

The game yesterday summed up Benteke's season for me.

Didn't do much, but what little he did do showed glimpses of quality. He missed the only real chance he had. And can claim an assist for Luca's goal.

A woeful lack of confidence together with shall we call it a ' relaxed ' playing style leaves him open to criticism.

With a threadbare squad, we have no option but to make him play through this period and hope things change for him.

Oh for a Rondon, pace, desire, movement and a footballing brain. Message to Christian, take a look at his performance on MOTD against Everton and replicate.

For me he is too much like Tekkers as a player in terms of attributes. He doesnít score an awful lot of goals either.

Vote for a Muppet - you know you'll get one anyway.

Cause nobody played 3 thousand minutes per season.
Gayle or Murray didn't have half of Benteke's playing time.
But I guess that's what you get if you;re a 30 million signing and you have to be promoted by the club at all costs, always a starter!!

Correct Neillo , let's just get behind him and if it does change it's all good.

Thatís the nuts and bolts of it.

Nothings going for him at the moment. Needs taking out of the firing line for a bit.

Stick him in the u23s and see if he can score there.

But if he doesn't then the club won't even be able get a lousy 15 million for him in the summer

In a struggling team, that is a very good return. Why does it matter whether the goal was a tap-in? All goals for your team are great aren't they? You dont get extra points for a "great" goal. CB is having a poor season but he has proven quality.
By the way, not everyone can convert a penalty, professional players SHOULD be able to, which is different

No it isn't. Not in that amount of minutes. A good return is what Josh King, Llorente, Andre Gray, Slimani, Andy Carroll, Charlie Austin, Abel Hernandez, Oumar Niasse, Michail Antonio, Ighalo, Crouch, Ulloa, Gabbiadini, Mitrovic, Glenn Murray, Dwight Gayle provided. Not talking about Vardy or Lukaku in Leicester or Everton.

Pretty much all the other strikers for struggling teams.
We're talking about actual minutes played here. If Benteke had played as much the ones above, he'd have had 3 goals last year, not 13.

Can I ask how many times you saw Benteke play last season (live, not on TV or Football Manager).
Gayle and Murray were in the Championship, cannot relate to your argument. Would any of the others scored more for Palace? I don't know. What I do know is you seem to have a downer on most players Palace are linked with and also several regulars. Are you really a fan or just someone who enjoys producing nonsense, irrelevant facts?
