I think this is a straw man argument used all the time by premier league fans to try and hype up our league even further, like we don't already tear the proverbial arse out of that one enough.

Sometimes when you watch a player, the class is just evident. Whether that's in a big premier league clash or a Sunday league game. I don't think many doubted Wilfs capability of being able to come up with the goods eventually in the premier league, and that's because we could all just see how special a talent he was in front of our own eyes. When Barcelona signed Neymar, he came from the Brazilian league & he could've pretty much signed for any team in the world. The amount of examples are endless.

I agree that sometimes the competitiveness of a league can make players look better than they are. But certain players have that special something, bit of added extra that sets them apart from others who are simply scoring lots of goals or doing well from a statistical point of view in leagues of lesser quality.

Moussa Dembele is one of them, IMO he's the real deal and he has every attribute to not only play in the Premier league but also in our style of team. That's also without saying, as has been mentioned, he's done it in the champions league. The quality of that competition supercedes the Premier league ten fold & one of the teams he scored against was City. If he can do it against the team that is literally walking the "best league in the world", I'm sure he'll be fine.

For me we should put out all the stops to sign this lad. If he's available for a comparable price to Babacar, I'd take Dembele over him every single day of the week.

dont know why everyone is getting wet on this one. There are some bang average players in the Celtic team that look like world beaters playing against sh1te every week (Griffiths, Sinclair et al). There's no evidence to suggest Dembele is as good as everyone on here seems to think. He looked as awful as everyone else when they were getting thumped almost every game in the CL.

This makes me laugh. The other week everyone was bemoaning that a few years ago Palace looked at Van Dijk when he was at Celtic but we didnt make a bid.

The reality is there are no dead cert signings, just a way up of the best options. Thats what the scouts are there for. They know more than us but it is still fun for us to speculate and share our views...all part of the fun.

Can confirm Palace have reached an agreement with Celtic for the transfer that involves Moussa Dembele.

Fee believed to be around £27m with add ons. The deal could, potentially, rise to rise £30m. #CPFC
