The only reason people are suspecting that something strange is happening is because there's a spiral of panic online among us fans who have no insights whatsoever into the situation, recently stoked by a pretty far-fetched rumour about Lafont.

That's pre season for you - nothing else to talk about..!! For me the most interesting thing going on is at Chelski..!! Abramovich - clearly can't get he's UK visa, to the point he now has an Israeli passport and has withdrawn his application for a U.K. Visa - if you believe today's news. Beyond that new ground development shelved, allegedly due to the economic climate. More going on at Chelski than being reported me suspects..!! Time will tell.

The commentator said so is hardly an official club statement is it? And Guillem Balague is another commentator who has confirmed what you are asking for anyway. Can everyone calm down until July.

That would be the best business ever...dream world! sadly with all the issues going on at the club I doubt anything will happen soon if at all. They have a chairman unsure what he is going to do, a manager who they can't move on although they have a keeper likely to leave(only glimmer of hope I suppose)
