Brighton should be embarrassed as should we.

It was embarassing and demeaned us all.
Football in general, the FA Cup and the Palace-Brighton rivalry.
"What rivalry?" the neutral will ask?

Regardless of result, one of the most depressing football matches have watched in a long time.

The soul has been ripped out of football.

Couldn't agree more, for any palace fan that's ever tried to convince a neutral of the hatred between palace and Brighton, they would of watched it last night and thought you was winding them up. We dislike each other but you can't compare the fixture to a proper derby like Tyne wear, 2nd city or north London

Are they even worthy of our rivalry anymore? I've never seen such a poor turn out of their so called fans. The Brighton fans of the 70/80s would be laughing at how lame they have become as a club. I find the whole thing very sad and embarrassing for them, although great at the same time, as the whole world see it on TV. What happened to all the season ticket holders? Maybe one of their other favourite teams were playing? If all the people that have posted on the NSC match thread had made it to the game, maybe the crowd would have been a bit more decent

Official attendance of 14,500 including corporate 3500 seats, most who didn't attend.

I think we can safely say that the rivalry is dead.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

and of the other 11,000, at least 25% obviously didn't bother to leave the bars and sit in the cold.....

This is truly a sad day.

Does this mean we are rivalless?

Wall have west ham, so it looks like Charlton by default.

I think Brighton are after a more middle class rivalry, one that doesn't cause too many problems. MK Dons or Reading perhaps?

I can't stand Charlton and would be happy for them to become our rivals but their desperation (to have us as rivals) makes them look a bit sad and pathetic.

Not sure who that leaves us with. Wimbledon?

Our greatest enemy is ourselves.

Our best selves should start a rivalry with our worst selves.

Part of me hates small mindedness. But another part can't stand people who think they're all that, but they're not. I hate myselves.
