Blame SKY and armchair supporters.

As a football club, what would you rather ?

1. A day at Wemberlee
2. 5hlt loads of money in the bank. ?

Ask Coventry what they think.

Simple solution. Cut the crap and give the FA Cup winners an automatic place in the (so called) Champions League.

^^ is the correct answer ^^

Well played, Sir

In all this let's remember Brighton made more changes than we did, but had more fit players too. If we had one we can presume the same discussion would be occurring on the Brighton Fans Forum.
Personally I am happy with keeping the money coming in rather than facing the prospect of a third insolvency
.
Besides it wasn't like we were playing Millwall!

No you are not alone. My dream will always be for palace to win the FA cup. Cup games have always been special for me which means I suppose l am a football dinosaur.

Been to Anfield twice seen 14 goals and my team haven't scored any

The premier league teams, manager and many fans are p**sing all over the heritage of the FA Cup, the worlds greatest Domestic cup competition, bar none.

Some of my best memories as a Palace fan involve this competition, and yesterdays debacle in terms of very few people seemingly caring whether we won or lost, including the manager, and a half empty stadium devalues the Cup and also our memories of this great competition.

I'd rather they scrapped both cups altogether and let us keep our memories untarnished.

Am I alone in this?

Yes, resting players gives Palace a better chance of survival in The Premiership.

And we all know how important the money is.

Hang on. Are we fans or financial consultants?

The FA Cup is our one hope of real glory. We've nearly won it twice.

Nobody else seems to care.

Is it just me? Am I howling at the moon?

I am with you on loving the cup! Was really hacked off that we didn't take it seriously and most of all against our bitter rival's.
I think that victory from them will improve their league form and outs will be effected the opposite way.
Travelled with others yesterday and most of them did tend to agree.
Perhaps its the older generation that still believed in it, opposed to the younger fans who feel the premiership is the be all and end all.
If Puncheons goal had won the cup and we had gone down, I would not have cared less.

I think you’ll find that circumstances played a big part this season. If we hadn’t lost seven in a row at the start of the season, if we didn’t have seven players out injured and if we hadn’t just come off the back of three tough games in six days then we may well have taken it more seriously. Let’s consolidate our place in the division, become more stable, get off to a better start with more points in the bag and then dream of a cup run. I’ve heard Steve Parish say before that he is realistic that Leicester was a fluke and that the only real hope of glory is in the cup for teams like us, but if we are really serious about winning it you still have to have a certain standard of player as the big teams start to take it serious when they reach the quarter finals. I think the last team to win it outside of the top division was over forty years ago and the last team to win it from the top division who were of a similar standard to us, were Wigan, and look what’s happened to them. (Forgive me if I am wrong on my fa cup trivia).

Let's not forget we played a Tinpot club on a Monday night. If we'd have played any other team on a Saturday pm, the magic might have shone brighter. A lower league club for the magic of a giant killing, or a decent Prem team for the prestige would have done it. I still love the FA Cup, and just because the plastics didn't turn up for them, doesn't mean everybody should feel too down about it.

It was a disappointing result, but history tells us that we will have the last laugh. While they make the long trek up to Middlesbrough, let’s hope that Roy takes our boys off for some warm weather training. Big Sam said it made all the difference to the lads when they were in his charge.

Yes, agree.

However, I would go one step further. I would give the winning team the option of a Champions League place OR an uplift of 3 places in the PL. That would give struggling teams a better incentive to put out strong teams, knowing it could save them from going down if they win it. It would also put in a nice wild card leaving the relegation decision based on the FA cup final. Good for the those not in relegation - a chance of CL football and good for those in the relegation zone - a chance to guarantee safety.
