Never understood the media fuss over a cabinet reshuffle. I don't believe you can judge success when someone is appointed. It makes more sense to wait 6 months then critique the cabinet changes or non changes.

One more point

She tried to move on two of the cabinet and they stood their ground and she caved in. Greening resigned rather than take up another position offered.

Very few people moved at all in the end - what was the point?

Reshuffles.....You give this person a job and then half the time once they get a handle on it your remove them for another departmental virgin.

Gives the impression that the real people in charge are the civil servant mandarins beneath them.... like 'Yes Prime Minister' told us.

It was akin to re-arranging the deckchairs on the Titanic

But has she been holed beneath the waterline?

Hang on.....does that qualify as a double entendre?

'Veni, vidi, vici' and 'Dulce et decorum est pro patria mori' were the 2 Latin phrases I remember from school. We were taught a hard 'v' and soft 'c'. I was chatting to a colleague who has just came out of college and he says this has changed. Bl*ody progressives.

Ester McVey is a very bad appointment as far as disabled people are concerned.
