Says that we are one of three clubs in the prem interested in the Burnley midfielder as he won't sign a new deal.

Thoughts.

Are we really going to offer him a first-team place? Doubt it, and doubt that we should.

I like him. He would offer something off the bench rather than our usual average players we have sitting on it.

Burnley want to keep him by offering a new deal which tells you they still want him but for whatever reason he won't sign it.

Wow! 29 year old player with 0 contribution in 41 of his last 46 PL matches.

Great signing this would be! I wonder who had the bright idea

Define "contribution", please. His team score sod all goals but have loads more points than us - must be doing some pretty good work.

Well, better work than Mutch, Lee and Punch have been capable of in recent times, anyway.

Well I think Simon's head is large; always involved in espionage. (Name that tune)

He has 21 league goals for Burnley - not prolific but he chips in with an important goal every now and then. You can also guarantee a high work-rate and a good attitude if he's been picked by Dyche on a regular basis. Not the most inspiring choice but, as a squad member, well worth a look if the price is reasonable.

Pretty much all of them in the lower leagues.

Getting attack players from the worst attacking team in the PL- not a good idea.

Now, getting defensive players from Burnley would be a totally different thing.
