Is bakary just playing for a new contract?

Townsend has turned into a very hard worker running from box to box, helping our backs and also helping on the counter but he is a bit too predictable and does not supply much service to Benteke and struggles to get shots on goal when we does try to rip them from long range (which he does way to often). Bakary is not only getting shots on goal/scoring but his link up play and service to Benteke has been fantastic. If Benteke keeps getting crosses like he did yesterday I have to think he will start putting some in. You can clearly see the two of them have great chemistry on the pitch. Townsend would be great to bring off the bench to close out games or possibly chase a goal with fresh legs if Bakary is tired at the end of a a game.

I agree with the posters on here who think Sako may have played himself into Townsend's starting position. He's got a great shot on both his left and right so must be a nightmare to try and defend against once he's running at you. On his current form (and fitness), he gives us an extra dimension with those shooting boots.

Could always replace McArthur with Townsend. Have Wilf and Andros on the wings and have Sako as a 10 behind Benteke.
