Pulis left after falling out with Parish over "the direction of the club", AKA, transfers & infrastructure. We all slated him at the time but now it's clear to see he had a point. And Sam clearly left for the exact same reason. Parish didn't want to give him the power he needed, so he left - that's why he showed up at Everton less than six months later with them in the same predicament as us when he took over, after supposedly "retiring".

No he didn't - that's just what he said. Two judges Have confirmed he was simply a greedy, mendacious git who ripped the club off because he wanted a job he'd been promised elsewhere & sulked when he couldn't get his own way.

With regard to injuries, are we really that far out of step with those we would see as immediate rivals? Ignoring Wickham's very long term issue we have 7 players out compared with:

Watford - 9
West Ham - 8
Burnley - 7
Arsenal - 6
Everton - 5
Liverpool - 5
Huddersfield - 5
Newcastle - 5

You could argue that out of that list the teams with the most injuries are those fighting to avoid relegation and, by that, I mean really putting a shift in week in, week out. Teams like Stoke, Swansea etc just don't seem to give everything.

The others are those that play a high intensity, fast pressing game whose players seem to suffer strains & tears rather than the impact injuries at the other end of the table.

What makes it more noticeable for us is how thin the squad is. Because of the lack of quality in depth we have tended to bring players back from injury before they are fully recovered & that is one of the things Roy is looking to address.

If our medical staff were that bad do you honestly think teams wouldn't take back their loan players when injured? LFC let Sakho stay here for treatment/rehab & Chelski are doing the same.

Every time we've had a chance to stabilise, he's cocked it up. And I'm more terrified than ever he'll do the same a third time because I believe Hodgson's the best of the lot. Granted, I think he's the least likely of the three to leave, but I'm still worried, especially since he's smart enough to know when he's being taken advantage of.

Did you see any of the High Court reports or read about our Chairman's hair & the ruling?

I don't remember reading that at all and would appreciate a link.

My recollection is that the judges ruled that he was not contractually entitled to the bonus so needed to repay it.

I don't recall anything about him being promised a job elsewhere

One of the players that Pulis sulked about not getting was Steven Caulker.............. where is he now? Supposedly Aladyce wanted Defoe........... not set the world alight at Bournemouth (against us I’ll give you that he had a good game) and now he is injured (I wonder if Bournemouth fans are blaming their medical team?)

Armani you’re not a fan of Parish and that’s an opinion you’re entitled to however I’m a massive fan of his and 99% of what he’s done in almost 8 years. Look at what Mike Ashley has done in a similar time or Randy Lerner or Ellis Short or Venkys I could go on!

That's fair but Pardew's Mutch has been expensive and very c&ck and Parish's Sako signing has been a complete joke until Roy's come in/his contract runs out in a few months.

Albeit that morally he was, having done what he was employed to do by keeping us up. He put a massive amount of work into the pre-season and then something happened (we know not what) and he wanted out. His crime was to use a ruse to get his bonus (a little) earlier than he was contractually entitled.

That's totally fair. I'm just giving my side of the story. And I'm with you on that last bit, as much as I rag on the guy, I'd take Parish over Ashley or the Venky's any day. At least he's proven over the years he does care, even if he screws up.

As the previous poster mentioned, you are well within your right to your opinion, as paying punters its a right to complain when we aren't happy - I do disagree with you re Parish, I'll take a chairman that protects the club from financial ruin and keeps us in the Premier league, albeit making some mistakes every day of the week but I appreciate not everyone will feel the same way.

Re the medical team, I'm interested to hear how you would improve things since as some posters have pointed out, most are contact injuries. You are within your rights to complain but perhaps offer some ideas on a solution otherwise what's the point?
My son is as fit as a butchers dog but that didn't stop him tearing his ACL when running through one on one with the keeper - totally unavoidable injury that no one can predict or protect against, sometimes s*it just happens.

I'll have a look when I've got a few minutes.

The appeal judge ruled that the CPFC version of events was the correct one & that Pulis had lied to the point the didn't believe any of his story - it was (in not so many words) set out in the judges comments on the final ruling which has been posted on here before.

Those are more the terms Pulis left on than the reason in his thinking although there is the rumour of West Ham intending to hire him before Sam took them on an impressive top table run. We know that when Pulis decided to leave he wanted to take the bonus and run, against terms in the contract, there were lies told, and out of favour players like Bannan brought into lies in court.

What we don't know is what happened leading up to that. That's not relevant to the court case. FWIW I wouldn't want us signing Stoke's ageing players but we don't know if that rumour is true anyway. Pulis didn't want Zaha and there's that rumour. That's turned out to be a poor opinion. There's people who still stick by let the manager live and die by his signings or else they walk. They kind of have a point, as opposed to an owner who makes decisions on signings. Now we have a dof so hopefully it's a similar thing, only someone more qualified, plus stability can be maintained a bit more with a dof having some input rather than only the manager's signings and them all leaving early.

On the injuries I think you're right in that it's the methods outside of the treatment rooms that need looking at. Also, they were only brought back to fitness under Sam a year ago, and that's after a year of gradual decline and negligence under Pardew. The season ended in May, they came back in July, all the other teams were working hard and we had the negligent Frank until into September. Since Roy came in we've been 'playing cup finals' in Zaha' words, doing lots of cohesive closing down to stop teams playing in certain areas and generally playing catch up. It's probably no wonder there's injuries again. What we need to do is get a control of everything, make sure we start next season well and cut this sh1t, unprepared, 3-5-7 games written off nonsense out, because this is a major starting point for these issues.

Pulis was entitled to the bonus a couple of weeks later at the end of August or I think it may have been September to prevent what Pulis did in walking out mid August and hours before Arsenal away.

Didnt Hodgson say they think, RLC may nearly be available again?

Where have you been? It's feared he could be out for the season and then there's a brief comment Roy will be surprised if he doesn't return before the end of the season.

That's not nearly available. That's very unavailable.

Simon Jordan was right many years ago when he said, if Palace won the League some of the fans (like you) would complain about the Burgers.

Try posting something more substantial if you disagree.

Roy leaving is a valid concern but in Roy's presser the business on signings sounds very busy and promising so I'll again advise you to not stress yourself over the whole of January and rather if necessary leave it till the 30th-31st January and hopefully not 1st February.
